If you are not already aware the Old Style forum in the Play section has a lot of good stuff about good value cooking.
Thanks for that, I will have a look laterI'll have a look at the recipes section you mentioned but I'm slowly getting there with cooking. Today for example, I made my first ever bacon butty - I know, lame isn't it? I have a list of things I can cook which are as simple as sausages or as complicated as risotto or fajitas. A Sunday roast will never be on the menu in this house, well not unless everything just needs bunged in the oven. I'm going to have to learn though
caz, I used to be exactly the same. I wouldn't have attempted to cook half the things I cook now (which isn't a great deal by some standards:D). I didn't have the confidence to cook anything, I was worried about things not being cooked properly etc but one day I thought I would give a Sunday dinner a go  It actually turned out really nice. I'm still not one of these people who can work wonders with a few ingredients and make a lovely meal (DD1 is a really good little cook and her cakes are divine) but I am definitely going to try harder
The whoopsied meat/veg and the slow cooker are going to be a great incentive (as soon as I go and find some recipes for the slow cooker
)!

If I'm making a chicken pie I always add a tin of campbells condensed cream of chicken soup to the filling. It's also brilliant for making chicken and mushroom vol au vents or chicken fricasee with rice
Thanks for the soup tip ... I had forgotten that I have tins of both Chicken and Mushroom condensed soups ... freebie Campbells :j0 -

It's my birthday tomorrow too and I can't remember ever having a birthday without xmas decs up so I always leave mine up until after (even though I'm itching to get them down after Boxing Day!):)If at first you don't succeed ........Alternative autism therapies should be free!!

I'm pretty sure they only do DTD instore so you wouldn't get it on stuff ordered online, unfortunately...those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

After the savings on OEL plus DTD over last couple of weeks, can't believe I got seduced over a 15% off notice in American Apparel :embarasse
DDs had gone to spend their xmas money (try as I might to sway them to 99p store, they were adamant on American Apparel) so they both bought a hoody for £40:eek: each, but I ended up buying a third as 15% off when you bought 3 of the same, so final one was £22 (or £34 each as shared the saving with them) but what possessed me to even buy the third hoody???
I can only console myself with the fact that everyone I've mentioned them to says they wear well and will last for ages, so I will be wearing mine a long time after they have gone out of fashion
On another point, has anyone ever returned a DTD item? Just wondered what will happen if electrical item breaks and there is no replacement available or if you gave it as a gift and the receiver wanted to exchange it?0 -

If you forget the bar code info and you find yourself relying on memory ... in the old design that glitches Thomas has a black outline (the newer doesn't seem to have this) ... and the newer design has lots of long yellow lines between engines. IMO the older design looks nicer.
Also, the Ben 10 duvet sets that glitch ... the packet has a "torn paper" effect along the top and the image of the made up bed is at the top right hand corner.
