I done this too...ala Jamie oliver..he called it turkey chowder, I've had it for lunch and brekky for the last few days...all gone now tho!!

He started it with softened onion and a spoon of cayenne..as you say lush, I will be using that one in future!!:T

This sounds lovely; Morrisons were doing an Xmas dinner flavour soup just before christmas but flogging it out at £1.79 a carton!!!!!

Mmm ... thanks JJ ... I've never made a pie before but I have some frozen Puff pastry sheets, left over chicken, some veg cubes, frozen mushrooms and onions so I think I'll have a bash!

Mmmmm. Chicken and veg pie :T

It's even easier (and quicker!) not to mention CHEAPER to rustle up your own pastry. Takes 3 mins, honestly.

8oz flour (plain) and 4oz fat (marg or butter) and enough water to help to bind it into a rollable consistency. The more quickly you combine the ingredients the better. Overworked pastry isn't as good.

Mum always does this with a turkey leg and whoopsied veg, to be eaten as stew with dumplings one day, then pie crust on it a day or so later. yummy and so cheap.
