  • Look out for whoopsied Finest Ham on the Bone today. I got some last night with yesterday's date reduced to "really, really, cheap". There were plenty more with today's date on them. Good luck.

Picked up 4 Head and Shoulders shampoos for 61p each (thought it was a good price) but they scanned at £2.99; I haven't been to customer service because they were closed when I went yesterday (6pm).

    Clearly says 61p :j

    Joys of castor oil:

Although it may be used for constipation, it is not a preferred treatment, because it can produce painful cramps, fecal incontinence and explosive diarrhea. Its action can go on for hours, sometimes unpredictably and powerfully causing an involuntary bowel movement at inconvenient locations and during sleep.[16

Imagine being told to 'push'.....

It 'paints' quite a mental image. Love the description of 'explosive' diarrhoea.

You must have sent the rain east as it's only just finished here along the coast.

Hope your DS is ok. Mine decided he didn't like his dinner last night but I thought he was just faffing so 'persuaded' him (aka threat of no Cars or Toy Story) to eat some more. A few minutes later he showed me his appreciation! So I had DS2 screaming in his bouncy chair wanting dinner, DS1 screaming in the kitchen as he was covered in puke and me running between the two.

Wool27 - I dread to think what it will cost me to move. There's only me and two young 'uns and only some of the furniture will be going (whatever the ex owns is staying) but it will take the biggest van they have to move my stuff! The garage is full, the attic is jam packed and the spare room resembles Ts warehouse! It would take me a good couple of years to run down the toiletries and household stuff and I'm not staying here to do that :p

Been there done that, DS couldn't hold down mash when weaning and we ended like this every time he tried to eat it, the main problem was he loved it but it didn't love him:rotfl:

I HAD to move mid November because londlord decided to hand properties back to bank so he could keep his business and mine had been sold to someone who wanted to live in it themselves eventhough I'd been told that they had been sold to a landlord
Don't blame the people moving in but do know that they're renting out a property across the street from my old house and know they couldn't get a buy to let mortgage and bank needed the property empty so they couldn't just let me stay there and pay their mortgage:(

Wouldn't have minded but it was the way things were done in such an underhand way and the fact that my DH had died there in April this year that made it so hard and I'd asked them to be truthful with me about where I stood in staying in the property which they weren't

Anyway all my stuff has been in storage since and am so glad that the council is paying for that because I filled 3 very large containers with all my stuff including all my DH''s things that I still don't know if I can sort through.
We're now living with my parents which isn't going well at all because DS can't do anything at all and everyone is shouting at him so either I get somewhere else to live or my Dad will be murdered ;)

  • That'll be a nice little DTD you'll be collecting then Alex. :D

OH's two sons are due to arrive on Saturday to spend New Years with us (we had them at Christmas last year) and now he's just phoned to say that his daughter and her family are coming on Saturday as well  While it will be lovely to see them all, 9 people in a small 2 bedroom flat doesn't really go  Should be intresting...
Thankfully we got 2 camping beds in a Tesco glitch a while back ;) :rotfl::rotfl:

This also means I'm gonna have to go to Mr T's to do a 'big shop' as everywhere will be shut on Sunday. So that means I'll get to finally look for some bargains and maybe an ood sel :D Gotta look for the positives y'know ;) :rotfl:

  • Sunshine, baby will come when it's ready. Have you checked your dates to see if (s)he is actually overdue? I've a few friends whose hospital got the dates wrong, so their babies weren't "late" at all. Dating by Ultrasound is not reliable.

I was lucky enough to have a waterbirth with DS and home birth with DD, induction is to be avoided if possible as statistically once intervention starts, they tend to want to intervene more and more.

It's different for everyone, with DD I didn't even have to push, she came out by herself, people in comas give birth without pushing, that is nature for you. Have a great birth, I'm sure you will.

  • Thank goodness the rain has stopped here in Belfast.

Nearly ended up in a&e last night with DS. He had decided to make some porridge for supper but thought that you put the milk into a bowl to heat up in the microwave then stirred in the oats, when he was taking the bowl out my Dad bumped into him, sent the bowl flying and the milk all over him then he shouted at him for screaming!!
The panic I felt while trying to strip him and cool his skin down at the same time and shout at my Dad to just go and do one, he hadn't realised what he'd done until an hour later even though I'd been pouring water over DS in the kitchen the whole time.

All I can say is we can't wait to get a new home so we're free to do as we please and I know that DS won't get hurt thanks to a very inatentive grandad.

Ouch, how old is DS? when I was about 10 or 11 sis poured boiling water from a kettle all over my never region.:eek::eek:

    Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a lovely christmas, I see I have not missed the birth yet Sunshine, hopefully something will start happening soon for you. And Belated Happy Birthday wishes those whose I have missed. Not been to Ts for a few days, forgot my handbag xmas eve and had to go back home and missed out on £4.75 turkeys by the time I got back everyone except me had one in their trolley. Along with loads of other whoopsies! What a donut I was!!

Have I missed anything big? Did see the post while lurking for the 1p mugs, so thanks to OP for that, think Jake? Apologise for not thanking everyone for all their contributions there is too much to catch up on and have not managed to read everything. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things and find something to add. I did find a stack of large roasting tins, the ones with the green label for £1.50 in both my Extras, was glad I waited as they had been scanning at £3, I wonder if they have gone down anymore?

Hoping to join you all for the night shift later.

We did go to Mr T yesterday & got the Scotchbrite Grill scrubbers for 15p & a couple more Pyrex round trays.
