  • I put a lot of faith in old wives tails - tried and tested for years and years and all that.

Not that I'm an old wife, btw :)

I tried everything Sunshine but nothing worked except induction. I had a sweep with DS1 but refused to ever have another one ever again so I waited until 10 days over. 1st pessary worked within 30 mins but labour was 26 hours :( With DS2 I had 2 pessaries and nothing so waters were broken and less that 9 hours later I was holding him. Because of complications I had to be fully monitored so didn't get to have a bath or use the pool but I found it great for easing the pain.

I think I probably said this before but I had weekly hospital appointments in Tri 3 and was told that if I went into labour at home to get to the hospital ASAP. I wasn't informed just how quick ASAP meant until I got to hospital for my induction and they told me as soon as I had contractions or if waters broke to push the emergency call button. Apparently when I was told to get to the hospital quickly they meant don't wait for exDH to come home & pick me up, blue light it to the hospital quick smart. I had no idea it could have been that bad but it was because DS2 was an unstable lie so if my waters had broken there was a good chance the cord would have gotten wrapped round his neck and ... well we don't need to go there. As it turned out I was a few seconds off being taken to theatre for a section as it turned out the cord was wrapped after all.

For me, anything to induce labour was a big no-no which was just as well as a kind neighbour suggested sex to help baby out but even by that point I knew the marriage was over and I couldn't have faced it. I tried everything bar castor oil with DS1 though and not even a Braxton Hicks. Long walks, the S word, pineapple, RLT, curry and gym ball.

So back to today and all I can say is .............. Oh I do like a DTD for tea time :D Got a corker and a golden so a very productive day indeed. To think I wasn't going to go out and now I've filled the cupboards, got some whoopsies and have enough left over from the impending golden return to fill the tank in the car. Life is good :D

Caz can you share the DTD please?:) TIA!
