  • So i go away to clean the house for a few hours and you lot all scarper to a new thread.....thanks HC, but could you all slow down so I can keep up please :rotfl:
Cant quote from the other page so thanks Cosmic-dust,Deb40 and Locarr (hope I didnt miss anyone) for helping me see I have done the right thing about telling the kids about their Granda....Locarr it def wasnt done to get at my ex, he told me it was up to me as he couldnt decide what was for the best(theyve lived with me since the divorce 13 years ago and saw his family regularly). Theyre 15 and 20 so technically not kids, but they did go for a walk together earlier and came back and thanked me for telling them as they had so many plans with friends over the next couple of weeks, that they prob wouldnt have seen much of Granda,so now theyre gonna be sure to spend some quality time with him. They were very young when my dad died(so was he!) and they have so few memories of him, that they both wanna make sure and make some very special ones with this Granda. Sorry for the long post, just very proud of how maturely theyve taken the news and relieved that I made the right decision

I'd definitely say you've done the right thing, I'm 20 and if my mum didn't tell me something like that for the sake of not upsetting me over Christmas I'd be furious. There will be many more Christmases, they only have one grandad.
