Coloured or golden marzipan can bleed into royal icing, so I'd suggest you leave it to air dry overnight. Should help your icing to stay whiter.

When the squadies were away the wifes used to play great times were had by us Redcaps. Did you ever use the boat club

I never used the boat club, we had a lad who used to come into the bar who worked in the boat club, he used to sit at one end of the bar and as he got drunker and drunker he used to try to drink the slops. He was one for the ladies, they used to phone the bar for him, lol, and he ended up with some girls name he couldn't remember tattoed on his arm.

Our customers kept you lot busy, they'd start in the Smugglers work their way to downtown and end up in jailhouse. I'd be going into the pub about 11am next day and pass them all sweeping the roads in their tin hats.

When were you out there? We were there in 90/91. Hubby was in the RRWs and used to work in the Officer's mess.

Thank you that's great. I'm so impressed with myself making it I don't even care if anyone eats it!! I fact it's been proudly sitting on the side wrapped up and I've been saying to my friends "Oh that, that's my Xmas cake, just waiting to marzipan it" just casually dropping it in. And when I was cooking it a friend phoned and I said can you hold on a minute I've just got to check the Xmas cake:rotfl::rotfl:
