    Just because it's against their policies doesn't mean they won't do it.

    Well said! :T

    i agree with fk, they sometimes take all the rtc out the back to reduce it even further. it stops the customers grabbing it out of thier hands as soon as the label comes out of the machine.

    They did that yesterday at the bakery bit, people were crowding around the cookies so much that I left and came back 20 minutes after slowly circling around the store trying to grab new whoopsies before anyone else (didn't manage it!), came back to find all the cookies gone but a couple of minutes later they were wheeling a whole tower of bread trays back out packed to the rafters with cookies, doughnuts, other delicious bakery stuff.....

    In cases like that they literally have no choice, people were crowding so much they poor guy couldn't move to do the labelling! Also proves why it's useful to do a few circuits of the whoopsie aisles lol! I personally did so many I got flat feet.

    I recall someone having some Lindam bed guards and they were trouted with them. The trout and her CS colleagues made it very clear that they were going to have them. :(

    And if they whoopsie it down for the staff, does it matter? we're all struggling so the way I see it is they are entitled to it too.:beer:

    I remember M&S used to give all their stuff to charity at the end of every day, not sure if this is still the case but perhaps certain managers are more generous than others at christmas time and buy it up to donate.

    If they are throwing it away because they don't want to reduce it then that is wrong. However, if the stores are anything like my local then there will be plenty bin scavengers about to take it away.:rotfl:

    M&S slash it for the staff now. I believe health and safety put an end to a lot of the charity giving by supermarkets.

    Regarding my previous remarks, you missed the capitals in ALL.......of course some items are kept for staff and I don't begrudge them that, what I mean is I know of no store anywhere that ever keeps it all back for the staff. Specially at xmas as they have so much to get rid of.

    To find 3 stores that took all the stuff in the back for staff imo is unheard of. Its my opinion that the OP either misunderstood or was given incorrect information and all that stuff was wheeled back out later all reduced. Many busy stores take it all out the back to be reduced to stop their staff being harrased by some of the scrupulous bargain hunters.

    It might be worth the OP questioning the store manager on the issue to see what his stance is on end of day reductions. :)

    I am passing this on to you because it definitely worked for me today, and we all could probably use more calm in our lives. Some doctor on tv this morning said the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started. So I looked around my house to see things I'd started and hadn't finished so I have managed to finish off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay, a bodle of Baileys, a butle of wum, a pockage of Prungles, tha mainder of bot Prozic and Valiuminun scriptins, the res of the chesescke an a box a chocletz. I was up at 11am and I'm starting to feel a bit 'eurgh' now, mostly out of boredom because most of my friends are too busy to muck about on facebook!

    This is the sort of thing I remember whenever I wish I had kids, I think, no, you're too lazy, you want lie-ins lol!

    Also helps to be near a frazzled mum with a screaming brat in a trolley, I don't think "my child wouldn't be like that" because I know it would and it'd be louder lol!

    Still a bit broody though :rotfl:

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Kids aren't brought up these days, they are dragged up. They don't respect their elders, they have attitude problems etc etc and whenever I see a bad behaved kid I always think "if I had kids I would bring it up how I was brought up - properly" but I don't have the patience for kids and I wouldn't want anything to do with anyone else's. Farts are like children, you can tolerate your own, but anyone else's.....

    That's exactly what they did in E110N yesterday because there was so much of it but they did it about 3pm.
