so the car....
well it cost us £250 to fix this time and we were given a warning that another injector is on its way out which will cost us even more to fix ... taking our payments to the car to fix it at £750 since november ... thats £250 a month we could buy a new car cheaper ... i could buy a new car for £194 a month saving £56 ... but it means going into debt again ... and atleast the car we have is paid for ...
honestly it is so stressful just now between the car and the free flights to deal with ( son has now decided he wants to go ... but cant afford to go ..etc etc) money just seems to be pouring out of our pockets and not making it in to them
i have a friend ( the 40th birthday present i was looking for) she has came over from California to stay for a few weeks and her husband has arranged a night out locally and asked mr el and me to go ... we cant afford it now that we have just spent £250 on the car ... i cant afford to buy her a present for her birthday now and i dont know when/if i will see her again
feeling kinda low just now to be honest ... but i will sort through it all i know i will
anyway gonna go look for a job for myself again ... that hasnt been going great either
ach well i will be able to look back at this all one day and smile0 -
so i've seen another job ... it is only 30 hrs a week and not great wages either tbh ... so i would probably earn less than i am just now ... but it is a step in the door .. i phoned up for some info on the job and the person on the other side of the phone was really nice ... i think i could work well in the team ... i'm thinking of applying for it as i really want out of the job i am in ... but can i afford the drop in wages and increased expenses ( i will be working further away , so more in diesel etc)
am i just thinking of applying for this job because the job i am in just now is so bad ?0 -
Dusts El off and starts the ball rolling on suggestions :-)
Right missus- 40th Birthday pressies-
Photo album of memories, often nice to do and quite cheap. Also go on vista print, they have offers for mugs etc which are just the price of delivery and you can put a photo of you all on the front and a caption.
40 Reasons in a card as to why you are friends...
Invite her round for one of Mr.El's super duper curries and have a catch up.
It doesn't have to cost the earth and TBH the best pressies are the ones that mean the most. xxBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Hey just found your new diary, bit slow me lol.. great ideas from Bob there. Car sounds a pain
How about doing a budget based on the potential new wages and see how it looks? Tricky one balancing up the happiness (sanity?) with the job and happiness of being able to live comfortably.
Noticed in earlier posts you were talking about making your own skin care products, been doing a bit of experimenting with that lately, great fun getting your kitchen looking like a lab

I'm alright - should have a little announcement to make on my own diary in a day or so...
This site is good for different ideas http://www.diynatural.com/homemade-shampoo/ and things that work for different people - I'm currently using bicarbonate of soda dissolved in rosemary and sage 'tea' (herbs from the garden left in hot water until it cools down). Not quite mastered conditioner yet - vinegar works but not figured out how much to dilute it so I don't smell like a chip shop! Made a thin liquid soap out of some old bar soap which I'm using as shower gel - got three different 'flavours' on the go with different essential oils in them. The textures take a bit of getting used to but it's very satisfying mixing up your own stuffDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
