Envious of your polytunnel El, I'm gritting my teefypegs in the yakky weather in the wilds of what passes for my gardens - concentrating on the front one, as it's the least jungle like
Good news on the Aunty front, fingers crossed SS sort the package out soon. :A
Can't offer any advice on CC's I'm afraid ... I don't have any, can't get any ... so don't really keep updated on deals & stuff with them. I'm pretty sure, that they'll still be 0% deals around in March if you do decide to hang on.
Wow, that's a lot of credit checks for one company to do, just to open one account  If I was looking at switching Banks & doing a CC shuffle ... I'd do the CC first - just in case, and then do the Bank switch after ... especially to a bank that does TEN credit checks
After all, it's only Eight weeks until March :rotfl:

it was a thread that i read on the bank account board ... it might not happen for everyone but it was enough for me to think ... ahhh maybe be a bit more careful here el as you dont wanna ruin getting a 0% credit card ...
there will always be deals going on credit cards ( thank goodness) but i kinda want to pay as little as i can lol the barclays one is currently 1.6% transfer balance ( i think ... if i remember right that is) thats gotta be better than say 4% ... so will decide this weekend with the help pf hubby and see what we will do
i do love having the polytunnel just wish i knew more about how to use it to its full potential really
what are you doing with your front garden?0 -

Ummmm ... how long have you got ? :rotfl::rotfl:
Well it's got annoying horrible hedging on two sides (one between us & one neighbour the other between garden & road), one side backs onto the house front and the 4th (between us & the other neighbour) is low fenced with the drive between that fence & the garden. It's mainly lawn, with a few jungled flower beds / borders & a couple of annoyingly overgrown ornamental trees ... not to mention the invasion of some blackberry things
The Climbing Rose by the front porch is nice, and once pruned & re-shaped will look pretty (I hope). The hanging baskets just need to be replanted & put back up (not sure if edibles or pretties yet).
Ideally I want to change the hedging to an edible one (found a couple of suitable berry bushes that will apparently do the trick). The trees need to go, blocking too much light both in garden & house.
Exsisting flower bed things need to be revamped, I will keep one but with some new ornamental flowers / bushes (hopefully some transplanted from back jungle) and will fill in the others. Thought maybe to make 2 or 3 raised bed areas, with a mixture of ornamentals & edibles, then lay nice shingle over the lawn area to give easy access and low maintenance.
I'd also love to put an arched type thingy over the path & grow mixed climbers up over it.
So ummm, not much then :rotfl::rotfl: Think it may take me more than one year to do all that ... especially as the back garden is not only the bigger & better area for growing edibles, but it is in an even worse state

ohhh Angel that sounds lovely ... yeah maybe a bit of work ... but it will so be worth it
well i paid some debt off and managed to get some savings so all is good
i have two interviews ... both on the same day but at different times ... i really fancy one of the jobs but i think that it is unlikely that i will get the job ... i do know however i will be preparing fully for the interview and do my best to get the job , so that if i find out i havnt been succesful atleast i will know that i will have done the best that i couldve
i am still struggling trying to do my hair ... who wouldve thought that at 39 a person would still have to be working on being a "norma" woman lol .... i'm currently trying a o system for hair to give me curls ... the idea is fantastic and easy to use ... just sadly so far it doesnt seem to be working ... fingers crossed i can get it to work though as i think i could actually do it
oh was away looking at cars again ... it appears mr El can only go so long without looking at cars ... were both really fed up with the car we have but we just cant afford a new one ... but he likes to go and see what is on offer anyway lol
hope you are all good ... wont be around much again ( sorry) as i will be working loads of hours and studying for interviews ...0 -

It's nothing to do with being "normal" or not. People are born with easy to control hair, or perhaps not...hope you are all good ... wont be around much again ( sorry) as i will be working loads of hours and studying for interviews ...

Best of Luck for the interviews El, :A
If it keeps Mr El happy ... and if it is only window shopping .... that'd be ok wouldnt it ?
As for the hair .... mine really needs something doing to it, but it's not in the budget atm - not to mention I dont even know what to do with it

sadly z its more the whole how do i do hair that i worry with ... i can brush it but thats about all i know what to do lol
well since i last spoke to you all i have went for the two interviews ... didnt get either job, got feed back for one but it really wasnt helpful at all tbh
have paid some off of the debt but have had to spend some on the visa for clothes, haircuts, treats (L'occitane had a sale and i just had to ...yikes) makeup etc so now i have another bill to get on top of but get on top of it i will ... i have been exceptionally great with spending till this job interview came up, then i spent money trying to ensure i get a job , that seems to indicate a few things to me
1) i am really unhappy where i am and need to move ( this was a reality i didnt really want to face but it is true)
2) if i think something will make me happy when i am not happy then i will spend money to make myself happy ... admittedly i did need a hair cut and i did need clothes and make up etc ...
but i didnt need to spend in L'occitane ( i just did cause it had a spend £30 get £20 worth of products ( which i use) free) so was thinking well if i spend £30 on what i use and get £20 worth of stuff that i use aswell then i will have £50 worth of stuff for £30 ..so i did it twice ... paid 60% got 40% free ... i think i have enough to do me two years now so no need for repeat visits
and i know that spending money does not buy me happiness i am aware of that , but i was also aware that i did need to buy interview clothes and sort out the makeup (again) and get my hair done ... the rest i was trying to get as good a bargain as i could ... but i feel like i am making excuses so i must be in some way
mmmmmm gives me something to think about
other than that it has been a case of keeping on top of the money, the gas and electricity, looking for jobs, not driving anywhere i dont need to ... yadda yadda yadda you know how it goes lol0 -
so today i have 7.5 hours overtime ... not enough to pay off the full of the Loccitane spend ... but it will make a dent in the bill atleast ...
i have 7.5 hours on monday as well and a training session with 6 hours later on in the month ... i think those will atleast let me clear them off ... then i can work on paying each item that i bought off bit by bit ...have to admit i dont really want to be in work anymore than i have to ... but i spent the money so have to pay it back somehow ... maybe if i have to do a few shifts i dont want to to pay it back i wont go and spend on the card again lol
have been phoning a person about a job but getting no where with it .. the online info says to apply for the job and if i want any extra info to phone a number ... i have decided to phone the number as although i do have all the required qualifications and more i dont have exactly all the experience they are looking for so i would rather discuss that first and see if it is going to be worth my while filling in the application form ... but that has been two full days now and today ... and yet no one has answered the phone . it hasnt even went to voice mail ... arrrggggghhhh frustration
oh well if i dont apply for it i am sure another one that i can apply for will come along soon
in other news ... i think we are going to have to give our free flights away ... if i had gotten one of those new jobs it would be a different story ... but... i didnt and we cant afford to go away now ... so i have written out the letter and just need to send it away ... which i will do next week sometime ...i dont like the idea of giving it away , but realistically we cant afford it and if we did go we would get deeper into debt which isnt an option at this time for us
i am sad to think that we wont get away for my 40th and the chance of free flights to anywhere in the world is such an amazing oppertunity that i dont want to give up ... but it is only going to be of any use to us if we could use it and not get deeper into debt ... which isnt currently an option ... not to worry we have Rome this year ( being treated to Rome by the inlaws) so i need to find spending money for that which with dealing with the extra visa etc means that things are going to be kinda tight anyway0 -
So i'm currently doing my second overtime shift, and ive managed to pick another five or so hours up taking me to 30 hrs overtime this month , which should give me approx £150 to throw at the extra added to the visa clearing the L'occitane purchases and start making a dent in the other debt that was accrued
Finally spoke to someone about that job ... I think i'm gonna apply for it as i have nothing to loose really , but dont think realistically i stand much chance of getting it
Thats about all thats been happening ... I'm still focussed on debt repayments and getting a new job ... But becoming a bit more aware of spending habits too so alls good0 -
Good news on the extra hours you've nabbed this month ... it may not be ideal for you, but at least it's covering the spend :A
Sorry to hear you're having to look at giving back the free holiday, I know how hard that must be - albiet only a weekend, I was in a similar dilemma a couple of years back and like you I felt I couldnt justify spending on the petrol & other bits that go with it
Well done on perservering with trying to contact that company ... it obviously paid off... Good luck with the application El, :A
