I use white vinegar to clean my rabbits hutch, found on google that it does cat pee too, quote:
White vinegar is a time tried and proven ingredient that aids in removing both urine stains and the odour. Combine one part distilled white vinegar to two parts warm water to create a spray. Remove as much urine/spray as you can using a paper towels. Mist vinegar spray over areas of cat urine and rub with a paper towel. An alternative method is to mix the solution in a bucket and dip a clean cloth into the liquid. Rub the stain with the vinegar solution. After the vinegar dries, wipe away both solution and stain with warm water0 -
Bicarbonate of Soda...it's the main ingredient in the products they sell in the pet stores to stop them peeing in the same place.
I think just sprinkle some on leave for a bit then vacuum off.Staring point of debt £23,343:mad:

My cat had a pee once behind the tv unit. First and most importantly don't use any bleach, cats love it and will go back to pee over it! I used a strong biological washing powder solution to wash it a few times (the enzymes break down the pee) then when it was dry sprinkled bicarb liberally over, left it all day then hoovered up. If you can't see behind the sofa put some tin foil down on the carpet to stop the cat going back there.Dum Spiro Spero0

For ages have been thinking could smell cat wee when on the sofa, finally realised it was the patch of discoloured paint half way up the wall in the corner (I thought that was old damp coming through from the bathroom)
I have washed it down with bio powder soln (this is what I advise clients to do-I'm a vet) but it still seems to smell really bad. Have no surgical spirit to spray over it (which is usually the 2nd step I advise) and was wondering if any of you have any sure fire ways to get it off the paintwork? I will need to repaint as some of the paintwork on that wall has bubbled showing bare plaster (I reckon previous owner may have been a PVA over bare plaster fan) but think I need to get the smell gone first!
(have no idea how it got there-is there any reason why a damp patch on plaster would smell of cat wee?? Its not my cat-he has never sprayed in his life, don't think he knows how! but another may have got in I suppose)0 -
Anyone-please?
I have washed it down 4 times with bio soln and a cloth, but it still reeks. The mark on the wall has gone, but the smell remains.....0 -
Have you got any vodka ?? if so wipe it neat over the area, and leave to sink in, should get rid of the smell x0

The one thing that you can do to reduce the smell is half water half vinegar and spray it on, but as I pointed out in another thread putting vinegar onto paint work strips layers off it after an hour or so. The vinegar will neutralise the smell of ammonia in the cat pee and it will also discourage it from going back there, so hopefully that should be the end of it. As I say it won't do wonders for your paintwork though!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money
