Have you got any vodka ?? if so wipe it neat over the area, and leave to sink in, should get rid of the smell x

Alternatively, drink the vodka and then you won't care anymore...

    And lock the cat flap.

Smell-wise the vinegar is great, although I've always used it neat and left it to dry (a stray male sometimes gets into the house and sprays, so if it deals with that then it will deal with anything!!), but as suggested, it may kill the paintwork.
  • Or you could lay in wait for the culprit to come in, nab him and subject him to a minor operation, IYSWIM?

  • Invest in some Simple Solution as sold in Pets At Home (and elsewhere if you look around). It's worth every penny. Removes smell/stains from pee, poo, vomit and more (animal and human).

I absolutely second this; I use the Natural Live Bio-cultures Pet Stain and Odor Eliminator solution (Ginger Eucalyptus oil blend). Pricey but worth every blimmin penny. Our cat has been peeing on the front door for months, nothing got the smell out so he kept going back. Squirted Simple Solution everywhere, not only is the smell completely gone, the cat has stopped peeing there. Happy cat, happy owners :D It's not exactly kind to paint (especially gloss), but it certainly isn't as bad as vinegar.

Did you use Crown emulsion? I have seen quite a few comments recently about that smelling of cat pee.

No, just b&q stuff in here.

Thanks for all the advice-at least I know the source of the smell now-it was driving me mad. Will try vinegar, although don't have any white, so may just pick up some surgical spirit at work tomorrow 1st.
