Phew! I'm so glad my oldest cat (20years) still remembers where to pee. I did however have major problems training my last kitten and found blotting then rinsing with warm water with dissolved bio powder in it the best at removing the odour. HTH

Why havn't they designed Tennacat yet?:rotfl:

  • There's nothing worse than the smell of cat pee pee. If mine started to do it they'd be straight for the knackers yard, joke joke!

White vinegar is supposed to be good for deterring cats from using the same place.

You have my sympathies, I love my cats but could I put up with them Pi$$ing everywhere..........ooooh, I'm torn, if it was a constant thing that was never going to improve then I think I'd have to put my hands up and say I couldn't. I would however try to solve the problem 1st. Yes you can say the incontinent cat is happy enough but is the owner!
  • Hi all, not sure if this is the right place to be posting, just wanting some advice! My cat Oscar has decided that the front porch will make an excellent litter tray, and has piddled there four nights in a row. I've got everything covered with regards to training him not to, but I just can't get rid of the smell  I've scrubbed and scrubbed, left bicarb on it for days and hoovered, but it still lingers. Any ideas?

Bio Washing powder in water then a white spirit rinse. A vet friend advised this and it does seem to work. Is there a tom cat spraying outside your house? Could be why Oscar is getting upset

not very o/s but if you can get to homebase they sell a pet urine spray from the rug doctor range, this should stop the problem

I would agree with this - although I thought it was non bio washing powder. My cat used to spray - particularly in the summer, I would leave the back door open and another cat would come in. This would upset my cat who would spray to mark his territory - the smell would make me want to cry!

Wash with washing powder, then rinse thoroughly with clean water, when this is completely dry, srinkle with white spirit.

Avoid anything bleach based or disinfectant as this smells like another cat to your cat and he/she will continue to respray to mark their territory.

Try feeding your cat in the same place. Cats don't like to mix food and toileting, so that should deter him from weeing, but you do need to find out why he is doing it. If it's not a neighbouring cat then has anything else changed in the house recently that might have triggered this ?

Why do people always blame their cats?
