I have been to town to get a few last minute bits from Wilko, and they already have their decorations at half price.

All that is left to do now is pick up some potatoes. lettuce, cu, tomatoes, mushrooms, russets and satsumas from the Greengrocers on Saturday morning :j All ordered just have to pay and collect:D

I will spend the rest of the day cleaning the house and getting some more washing done.

Safe journey Moiliere and hugs to everyone in need

Out with the family last night for a meal, its a bit of a family tradition and enjoyed by all as its one of the few we are all together in one place. Got all my cleaning done yesterday so only need a quick spit and polish over Xmas, going away to DD3's Xmas eve and Xmas day and then back Boxing day with DGD so a good time will be had by all, DD3 is very laid back so the cooking etc is done without mither and everyone is relaxed so looking forwards to it. Im working Friday and Xmas Eve but as I work 6-2 at least Im finished at a decent time.

So everything is done, just need some milk and a lemon jelly!! I left the unopened jelly on top of the microwave whilst I was using it and it melted in the packet :rotfl:

So incase I dont get time to post before Xmas, Im sending everybody good wishes for a great Xmas and hope it will be as relaxed and pleasent as mine :j

Tried to get on here early this morning but no luck. Thanks for all the advice re computer problems. If the same thing kept happening it would be easier but this morning nothing would work. After struggling for about 45 minutes I left it, came back about 10 minutes ago and
everything is working like a dream.

I still feel a bit odd about Christmas, it's the first year for about 50 years that I'm not organising Christmas at home, but I AM organising Christmas for about 70 people somewhere else. It's all slightly strange.

Anyway, 8 dozen mince pies are still waiting to be made and I have someone coming to see me in an hour. Hope they don't stay long.

You all seem to be revving up and getting on with things.
Lou: hope your cold soon gets better - keep up the OJ and vitamins.
    Moliere: safe journey.
Jaxx: just take care and delegate for all you're worth.
Moorhen: If you are having problems with your Quality Street I can be terrifically helpful.
    Thinking of Dazi today.

Right, I think I have time for a quick sandwich, a quick swipe round the lounge with the vacuum and a good spray of Orange and Clove room spray - my old Mum's tip - make everything smell nice and they won't look too hard.

  • Why is it on my first day off for the holidays do I come down with a cold? :( feeling sorry for myself now and not doing much. I've dyed hair and tidied my bedroom. Bathroom is half done, waiting an hour for the drain cleaner to work before I finish it off!

Going to make soup in a bit for dinner later, having LO pasta for lunch as it just needs nuking in microwave.

Flatmate is having her removals paid for her by her new company, and the company came to measure up stuff today. They have said that they will do a sneaky quote and move all my stuff too, but just tell her company it was one move ;) That is a weight off my mind cos I didn't fancy moving everything! Also flatmate has offered me her fridge/freezer for £60 which I will buy as she has one intergrated in her new flat. It's only 18mths old, and is in good nick. She has also offered to give me her mini counter top freezer too for free :D. So just need to find a washing machine now!

    Thinking of you to-day Dazi.

Up to my neck at present....shouldn't be on here, I still have to ice cake, wash car and fill with petrol and check oil etc; will be visiting Brother, DD3 and have DSIL coming to visit me at 9pm...somewhere in there I need to pack for OH and I for the 4 days we will be away!

Wishing all my friends here a very happy Christmas, whether you celebrate it or not. I hope that those of you who have had troubles of any kind will be able to relax over the weekend. Safe journey to all who are travelling, and most of all, thank you all for being my friends, it makes such a difference to my life.

thats a tip I heard from someone else too! he was a cleaner and said spray a bit of polish arould just before anyone comes and they will think you've worked hard! lol:D

sistercas - hows your DH now?

Marie - hope you get it all done! x

DS1s car has failed the MOT:( he's got no money as usual so we'll have to help out again I dare say.

Did the food shop - feel pleased as I havent spent any more than usual:T - we aren't going overboard with lots of extra things - I've bought a few extras over the last few weeks and that will have to do us.

DH is really busy as usual with his milkround - he'll be shattered by Saturday!

thats it for now! back later x

  • Evening all

Still feeling ill but soldiering on :rotfl:. Wrapped the last 2 presents so that's all sorted now.

OS update - 2nd bedroom tidied, hoovered up and downstairs, cleaned bathroom, cleaned kitchen and now have 2 pots of HM leek&potato soup simmering on the stove :)

Just got to hope that it all stays tidy now til Sunday night :rotfl:....wishful thinking!

I've written my food shopping list and I'm planning on going out to shops first thing tomorrow. I don't need much just veg, cheese and cream really so it won't take long. My parents are bringing the wine for Xmas Day, and my nan bringing a trifle.

I've also written 2 letters, one to close a CC which has a £10 odd positive balance, and another to claim the tax back on washing my work uniform at home for last 3 years (thanks Martin :money:)

    Have a good evening all
