:rotfl: horrible!
I was a messy cow when I was a teenager, honestly Environmental health would probably have closed my room off if they could have got a look at it. I left everything laying behind me, empty yoghurt pots, things like that for weeks on end. :eek:The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Nooo surely not, all they do is sit in their bedrooms, play xbox, make an appearance for food and become soap dodgers????? Give me some hope!
No chance, when them hormones start raging through there bodies and they dont know how to deal with them, whoa, they start squaring up to dad (leader of the pack) not sure whether to pluck the two new whiskers out or shave the bum fluff off their chins.
lol.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
well, I had one girl and two boys go through it! neither of them were as bad as ME, so I counted my blessings!
er - I did try the 'reverse pyschology' bit - no success! doesnt work on tweens or teens - works on toddlers tho - they think its hysterically funny!
I just thought 'mother Theresa' mode! I absolutely refused to be drawn into 'dramas'. in fact, I laughed at some of the tantrums!
They do come through it hun - and emerge as decent human beings! OH, and its sometimes best to develop a 'blind eye' and 'deaf ear'!0 -
As a Mum to a 12 year old daughter, I feel your pain! We haven't had rages as of yet but we do get moods and general unhappiness.
This is only the beginning, I fear:eek:0 -
my yongest SD is 20 next month and her rages are the same now (heard her on the phone today) (sat with her in the car yesterday) as they were when she hit the terrible teens at 8, on the upside her older sister was the same and grew out of it at around 26:rotfl: l love this site!! :rotfl:0

I am practically licking the ashtray trying to get some hint of nicotine in to my body after today.
She will only communicate in a series of huffs and whinges (it goes so far off the spectrum I need flipper to translate for me)
Is there anywhere I can also buy super thick underlay to cushion the stomping?
OP I know you're suffering but this made me laugh so much!
Re the smoking - they say kissing a smoker is like licking an ashtray so maybe you could knock on a few doors and see if you can find a kind smoker to give you a snog! might even cop a feel too which could lift your mood!
seriously, she just needs to ride it out. you could invest in some earplugs!0 -
oh dear, this reminds me of my and my parents not so long ago... well actually almost 5 years now since I moved out
Anyway, my older sister and I were horrible, horrible teens i'm sure!! Messy, moody and just plain horrible I suppose.
I had plates and cups growing interesting looking things after leaving them in my room for weeks on end with leftover food in, drinking the booze and watering down the contents of the bottles, smoking with friends even though I hated it! Arguing with the parents on an almost daily basis, not getting on with my father AT ALL
and being a general brat in all aspects really!
On the plus side, I'm now 23, have moved out, and have become a (fairly) mature proper human being, rather than a stroppy demon of a being. So, hang in there....there's light at the end of the tunnel! :rotfl:0
