Meanmarie, know exactly what you mean. My eldest boy is in Australia as well, miss him so much especially at this time of year:(
Kelen Welcome you will love it here:wave:

Just finished putting all the food shopping away, managed to get everything on the list so hopefully that's it until after New Year:j
DS2 has just come back from doing his Christmas shopping so he has done everyone in about an hour and a half, that's the way to do it.
My 15yr old DS3 has gone to the Manchester Christmas markets with his friends to buy his presents this afternoon. I think this is the first year I have not had to buy presents for the kids to give to other people, I do miss having little ones sometimes but the grandchildren make up for it:D
So going to do some more of my Christmas jigsaw this afternoon and listen to Christmas songs, feeling very Christmasssy now:j

Hello again just a quick post before I go and pick up DD3 from work, we are all going out tonight so DD3 and SIL are stopping at my house, DD3 works not too far away but llives miles away so has a long rain journey each night and SIL works in the opposite direction to her, in the NY there are considering a move nearer to DD3's work so I may see more of her then.

Got all my housework done and wrapped very last present up!! yipee!!!! Feel really good and ready for the big day now, just two more work days, Friday and Saturday then two days off before I start again.

Hugs to all and keep positive

Thanks everyone for your good wishes.

OH is home now, have packed the van and am waiting for him to shower etc then we will get going, will stop halfway down tonight and get there early tomorrow, I like doing this as it means we don't have to get up at stupid o'clock tomorrow morning to beat the traffic.

Thoughts and hugs for those who need xx

    - I'll be posting over Christmas so you won't be alone! Family coming to me for lunch but I'll be on my own in morning and evening. PS where do you live?

Moorhen - glad the baby is improving

Dazi - Safe travels and hope tomorrow goes as well as can be expected x

    Welcome mucky_moo and kelen :)

Woohoo no more work til 2012 :j 13 days off :j. I had a lovely last day though. I was looking after my colleagues 8 work kids for the day, I bribed them to do some paperwork for their qualifications this morning and then took them to the Winter Wonderland this afternoon. It has a funfair and ice rink :D. I gave them all £3 each towards the cost of rides etc. They had a really fun afternoon, and it was a nice way to finish for the year. They all said thank you at the end, and wished me a Merry Christmas which was nice and thoughtful of them.

I'm off to the cinema tonight with the girls, going to see New Year's Eve. So popcorn for my tea :o :rotfl:

OS wise - DW needs emptying, laundry put away

    Have a good evening all

Home from work, had a little party with our present swapping. My colleagues loved theirs, and i was lucky enough to receive some le cruset ramekins, a reindeer cookie baking set and some wonderful nail varnishes that change colour! Also got a gift from our directs which was so generous and will help enormously towards getting either our new tv, or i will treat myself to something.

OH is at the pub with his friends, Im waiting for the water to heat up and i will have a bath, and get sorted for our christmas lunch tomorrow at work (the proper christmas do!)

Feel so much normal today my lip has only been an issue when talking loads but apart from that has been fine :)

Odd day at Camelot castle, Christmas party for P1s and P2s and Santa paid a visit - it was lovely, all those wild cheeky children suddenly silenced by the big man in red!

Had text from DS1 last night to say that he couldn't come after work to collect pressies so would come during the day (so he didn't have to see me). Decided if he didn't want to be part of this family he wasn't getting in the house so put everything in the woodshed and text him to tell him. DD and I used a door that he didn't have a key to. I had to run home from work to pick something up about half eleven and he was here. Asked him if he wanted to come in and discovered that the key I had (very big old iron thing) didn't work from the outside. I think that plan backfired somewhat! Anyway a friend was in Glasgow so I asked her to go to shop DD works in to get her key so I was saved from an evening of hanging about as she doesn't finish till 8 and then has to take the train home. Anyway, I'm afraid I told DS1 that I thought he had been brainwashed by his GF and needed to 'man up'. I think I have just lost my son.

Went to A*da to get my shopping, what we don't have we can do without and we certainly wont starve! Feel a little guilty reading Monnogran's post and have decided to give some of my bonus money from my second job to a homeless shelter locally.

Take care all and don't get too stressed about the big day.

Just popped back as suddenly had to go out this a.m. and NO mincepies have been made. HELP!

Butterfly Brain: Thank you so much for your help. You are clever, I wish I had a technical brain. Now, if you could do something about the fact that the wretched computer suddenly decides for itself that I have read enough, and shoots to the end of the page and freezes there, I would be more than grateful. The Vic says that she will defrag it for me once the Christmas rush is over. Sounds painful.:D

Camelot: I don't want anyone to feel guilty but I'll tell you what, you'll have made some people very happy. Thank you.:A

Kelen: Welcome. You'll be amazed at how quickly you get to know us all.

That's quite enough for one day. Night all.
