Morning All,
Love and Hugs for those in need.
We went to visit my DH SMIL last night, took some cards and a christmassy plant for her. She is a lovely lady and not in the best health so its always lovely to see her.
DH is really fed up with a few work problems at the moment and i am trying to be patient but it's hard. He just can't seem to leave work at work and broods about things. We've been married a long time and he has always had these spells were he withdraws for a few days, I should be used to it but it still drives me mad.
Anyway today will pop to Mr A and get some wine for over Christmas plus a few last minute bits and bobs. Will get the fresh stuff on Thursday and that should be it thank goodness.
Tonight we will pop up to our best friends as DH has promised to fit their new kitchen lights before Christmas. We will be spending New Years Eve at their house which is good cos it is just a quick stagger back home:D
Welcome Muck Moo Love your name:D
Tea tonight will be hm lasagne. Just caught up with 'The Only way is Essex Christmas special, I have to watch it alone it's my guilty secret:o

I dont usually post this early but I have to get myself motivated and start cleaning house as I have visitors tomorrow, its not really dirty or anything as I live on my own and I dont like clutter but I must admit its feels cluttered with all the Xmas stuff about and hence its feels dirty to me, so I will go in a mo and start the cleaning to make myself feel better - SAD or what!!!
Out for a meal tonight with the family so no dinner to prepare but I have a load of freezing to do as I bought a lot of cheap veg yesterday and it will last me through January, the WM is on first wash but theres not enough for a second wash yet so will leave that till Friday
Right porridge ate, 2nd coffee being drunk and off upstairs I go to start

Morning all,
Today is day 10 - 9 more working days to go until retirement :j Working from home today and it should be quite leisurely as all of my clients are shutting down for an extended break about now. It will give me time to catch up with all those tasks that never seem to get done.
Kitchen is tidied and chicken are out roaming, I need to give them some more straw, food and water today. The food and water I understand but I'd love to know where their straw goes .
Although I'd hoped MrS would suggest take out last night we decided on eggs, chips and beans instead, and it was fantastic. So lovely to have such comfort food every now and again.
Firstly though, my nails need doing. It's not terribly MS or OS to wear false nails and keep them pretty but it's a bit of me time each day and all my treatments mean that my nails are dreadful. I know that the falsies don't help the condition but hands are something I notice about people.
The family argument is rolling on and I'm getting bored of it. I do wish people could just apologise and mean it and move on but instead it's all gotten out of hand. I know we can all be guilty of acting and speaking without thinking but I do like to think I'm a nice person who apologises when neccesary and always tries to act with the best intentions. It's getting so upsetting now, and I wish it would blow over quickly so we can all get on with it .
Breakfast was a HM muffin and lunch will be the last leftover HM cheese and onion bread and pea soup. The soup is a recipe from HFW Veg book. It's pretty much frozen peas, parsley (rather than the usual mint) and an onion and it's really rather good. I can see it becoming a regular. Dinner -hmmm, will take some thought. Maybe a YS pizza from the freezer with added toppings.
Should be a NSD and NP day today as I don't intend on leaving the house. Whenever I'm planning a day at home I always wear dreadful clothes so that I know I won't be tempted to go out without getting changed and with that being such a faff I just won't bother :rotfl:
Must get some washing done, the dusting done and get the fires lit today. The floors could do with a blast around with the hoover and steam mop but not sure I can summon up that much energy today.
Hugs to all that want and need them :kisses3:0 -
Hi all.
Slightly soggy day in Concrete Cow Country today; Sidney didn't mind though – he loves his walks, whatever the weather's like!:D
Findingmyway I shall very likely be around at some point over the weekend.:o
Mucky Moo Welcome – I love your screen name!:D
Shalva many thanks for the Adam Sandler link – it really raised my spirits this morning;:D just a point of interest, Mr LW has Jewish ancestry somewhere along the line, though I'm a Celt myself.;)
Lou I think the colds are doing the rounds just now – Mr LW and I keep fending it off, only to have it return for another try. Don't forget our virtual lunch appointment – I shall be stopping for a sarnie at 12:00 noon, and I would really like for you to have something too at that time, as I could do with the company.
Bitsy thanks for the hugs – much appreciated.:A
I don't know how much OS or anything else will be done today; my shoulder has really been playing merry Hel all night – took Oramorph (liquid morphine) at 01:00 this morning, another dose at 05:15, and had to have a third dose at 06:30. Don't worry, this is well within what the Pain Doctor said I could have.:o Still, a WM load has been done, and a hand-wash-only top is sitting in soapy water as I type (must go and rinse it and hang it up in a moment).
Mr LW's pal A coming over tonight, so an easy dins – pasta in cheese sauce.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Sorry everyone. My computer has gone back to it's former bad behaviour. No thanks button so please consider yourself thanked if you've posted.

Pushing on with the mincepie making but am lagging behind on my timetable - too many interruptions.
Last night I had so many donations for the 'drop-in'. A teenager with learning difficulties has made cakes and sold them to her friends at school and has sent £34. Someone else had friends to dinner and told them what we were doing, they had a whipround -£56. The RC church gave us their carol service collection -£200, and the priest has offered to buy us a fridge-freezer. The monks at the Abbey sent a cheque for £500. A man I've never met dropped off a Santa Sack with 30 wrapped presents for men and 6 for women. The same teenager who made the cakes gave me 30 little packs of tissues for the stockings. I am so moved by people's kindness I want to cry.:A:A:A:A:A
Must go now, the rolling pin is calling me
Welcome Muck Moo.

How lovely that so many have been willing to help, it restores my faith in human nature xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Afternoon all,
Damp and mild here, not gardening or line drying weather.
Have finally put puddings on to steam....think I will have enough for next year too, can't seem to settle to making one small pudding, OH and I are the only people who eat pudding, so much part of Christmas preparation that it is almost automatic, although usually in Oct/Nov, not sure what happened this year. Mince pies still to be made but not a very onerous task....make a 'traybake' type thing which I cut into squares when cold, half with pastry topping, other half sponge.
Still have some wrapping to do but nothing to buy....I think, will have to write all down to make sure I have all I need....feeling a bit guilty as have spent roughly the same on each DGS but DGS1 has a much smaller parcel as the book he wanted is smaller than DGS2's and the other half is a voucher, while DGS2 has lego...that's me being silly....right??
All clothes ready to be packed and found a pair of shoes which are good for walking so they can go in instead of light pair I normally use.Must check OH's meds as he muttered something about needing a new prescription....would rather wait until new year as doctor is on first come first served basis so we could be there for hours!
Lou...please keep up the vit C and try to eat with Lame Wolf as you seem to be just getting infection after infection and need to build yourself up
JackieG....hope you are all ok in the frozen North.
Bramble....glad mouth is better.
Dazi.....hugs for tomorrow.
Hugs to all who are in need or want....special hugs to those away from family and friends.
Going to skype DD3 in Perth, missing her so much this week

Yes, MMarie, it won't matter the size of parcel. Great excitement as to what's inside etc! You are very organised with nothing more to buy.
Damp here today.
Been out to driving range with DH - I sat in the coffee shop and had HM scone and a coffee yum yum.
(((hugs))) to those unwell or feeling low.
