Parking is one of those captive industries where anything goes and there is naff all any of us can do about it.

if everyone that got a scam letter refused to pay then the costs to these pondlife could bankrupt them, it just takes the word to reach all and sundry

But the thing is you have two local supermarkets with no ppcs that work very well without any problems I can see, people are asked not to park in disabled bays unless that person needs it, none of the rubbish from a ppc about parking there and bluebadges and parking within bays etc and it runs very smoothly.

You go to tesco in Llanelli you have a ppc there in one part of a car park the rest is a retail park, why have one there ? There are no bus routes to there, there is no real walk in trade as its an out of town place, there is no housing anywhere near it, basically the only reason to go there is to shop, nobody would go there for anything else. The scammers only have cameras at two entrances yet there are three there are hardly any signs there, and they send invoices out saying you been there all day, even though in my case I could prove I left there in the morning and went back several hours later. They had the vehicle tracker logs sent to them and they still tried to pursue lol

My point is though that there is no need for parking companies at all, they have no purpose and cause problems, they leech off the public and all should be closed as there is not ethical one out of any of them, they are robbing scamming shysters.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

They do that deliberately, its a scam within a scam. If you paid the £82 (heaven forbid) they would come back and say you were out of time and they need more off you.

If there is ever an Olympic competition for talking bullsh*t then Whyte and Co would undoubtedly take the silver for England, close behind Roxburghe. The only "further recovery action" will be to write you another warning letter, and the Debt Recovery Officers will do the same. Before the whole shower quietly does a disappearing act when they realise they are wasting their money as you are NOT a mug.

Ha ha looking back I see they gave you the same ultimatum 3 weeks ago? Not very bright, are they?
  • Hello,

I've read through loads of these posts now and the overwhelming answer to all circumstances is ignore any private parking charge notices. I like the approach, especially as it saves me any effort in refuting, BUT, just wanted to check something. On the main mse website it has letter templates for incorrect driver. I was recently sent a parking charge notice from parking eye. the car was parked and no ticket was purchased (hence the letter), but I was NOT the driver (i can guess who was though). Should I write and say I was not the driver as the templates suggest or simply ignore altogether.

would i avoid the risk of ending up in court if i respond now with proof i was not the driver?
  • Deltah,

Don't write. The advice is out of date. Stick to ignoring. If you write they will try to pressure you into naming the driver.
  • much appreciated - will take the advice
  • Yes, it won't go to court after Parking Eye's last debacle. And there the guy admitted to being the driver! You don't have to name the driver and without that info they cannot take ANYBODY to court. Just ignore

How do we take these cowbows down? i had to go to court in torbay with a Soldier. we were in a military vehicle! we stopped off in Asda before the hearing (1030am)to get some food. there was a sign saying "Free Parking as the machines were out of use and sorry for the inconvenience" on our return i had a parking ticket! i then went to the machine and the sign had changed to "this machine is out of use please use another!" i found the parking attendant and he admitted to changing the sign and giving me the ticket but could not remember what bin he put it in even though it had been less than 2 hours ago! ( i wanted it as evidence). i have disputed this entirely! and always get the same letter.. "your points are noted but the charge was correctly issued and still stands" i also have had one saying that they have checked with DVLA and that DVLA have confrimed that i am the registered keeper!!!!!!!!! IT WAS A MILITARY VEHICLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! ihad no reason not to pay for the parking as i was on duty i would of got the whole £3.50 back these guys are liers and bullies........ after i continued contesting them and told them whatthey had said was wrong but not telling them how they were wrong(ie the vehicle belongs to the Army) they passed it on to their sister Bailiff company WHYTE & CO. i tried phoning the number to speak to them but it went straight to the if you want to pay you parking fine message or speak to town and city parking!!!!!!!!!!!!(does whyte and co only work for TCP?????) this company is a scam. since then i have refused to correspond until they send court proceedings but warned them that all correspondence is kept for harrassment puroposes but will not be answered. i received one more letter after this.. but not heard anything since!

( i have all correspondance to this from May/June last year until feb 2012

I forgot to mention i did send a cheque for the parking on the day to TCP, it got sent back once however i sent it back and they never cashed it.

this company needs to be closed down!

Of course it is a scam run by dishonest people. Had you found us sooner, you could have saved yourself all that trouble. I think you will have worked out that NOTHING whatever will happen whether you reply or not; but if you do reply, they press harder as they think you have taken them seriously.

It makes me sick when I think of those moronic leeches trying to suck blood out of our brave soldiers. They should be sent to Afghanistan to be used as human mine detectors.

If you have the time or inclination, sue both TCP, and Asda for being stupid enough to employ them, for harassment. I can just see the headlines the Sun will print!
