Since renoman posted a picture of the tardis I keep getting the theme tune to Dr. Who whenever I see a Geneer post. I have a vision of Mr. & Mrs. Geneer popping in the tardis to go househunting in 2009. I'm a Tom Baker era Dr. Who watcher so Geneer is always wearing a long scarf.
Now he's bought maybe he could rent out the tardis to Grand Designs. Instead of having to wait 3 years for the 3 year update series Kevin could take the intrepid builders back in time to do the building. That way we see the original build and the update at the same time.0 -
Well after the fun of the last couple of days I think it's time for a bit of quiet reflection and to try and piece together the real truth.
Had geneer really decided to 'play the bulls for saps' as he makes out, he would have quietly PMed his bear mates, at least on CC, to let them in on the joke so they could all join in the fun for the next few years. However, even his most staunch allies on CC are as surprised as anyone, so this didn't happen.
My thoughts are that geneer bought this year, around October time but knew that if he said that he would hear hoots of derision about 'missing the bottom' in 2009 and not having the courage of conviction to wait for the forthcoming crash in 2012/2013 or whenever the bears predict it will be. He therefore made up this, frankly, sensationally unbelieveable scenario where he kept everyone in the dark - 'friends' and 'enemies' for two years in order to save face, but has ended up making more of a fool of himself than any other possible scenario.
Here is a pic of geneer:

Better clarify that it's not Jiminy Cricket who seems to be trying to give sound advice to the puppet in question:wall:

Geneer you have made a bit of a dogs dinner with your retrospective "2009 property purchase" announcement.
To avoid any further confusing announcements (like your 2009 'purchase') in the coming months or years, could you confirm:
1) That you have made no other purchase or sales since 2009?
2)Also for absolute clarity could you confirm you have not made any purchases or sales pre your December 2009 one (in case you announce next week that you bought 10 BTL in 2001 that you had previously omitted to mention)
Kind Regards
BenjaminSorry its very unlike me to just ignore PGs witterings. :rotfl:
Oh dear, the memory really does go when you get older.
Well PG, you've asked him 6 times if he bought before or after Dec 2009 ~ and each time he's ducked the question.
We must assume there's something he doesn't want us to know.
If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -

Geneer. I should not have to do your thinking for you but if you really were going to do such a wacky prank as buy in Dec 2009 but not tell anyone till 2011, the day you bought you should have posted something clever and subtle like this.
Geneer posted December 2009:
"I think there will be a massive crash. Bought on by a rise in interest rates. A recession will also happen. House price crash is going to continue for the next 5 years. In particular BTL LL will suffer. Edinburgh will also be hard hit. Today it is clear only a muppet would buy a house before the HPC happens".
Now why did you not write a cleverly coded post like that in December 2009? Then instead of people saying you are Pinnochio today you would be being applauded for your tactical genius:)
Kind Regards

Hey, Geneer. I'm looking for really special presents for the kids this year. Can you do me a favour? There was a big sale this week 25 years ago in Woolworth's - would you mind hopping in your time machine and picking up a few things for me? I'd like kerplunk, a space hopper and a Raleigh Chopper. Treat yourself to some pick and mix for the trip back.
To infinity.............and beyond!0 -
I wonder how long it will be before geneer tries to backtrack from this disaster?
I'm expecting him to claim that his house purchase was 'all a joke to see how the bulls frothed'. :rotfl:
What a clown.

I've been overseas for the last week but let me get this straight... it turns out that Geneer has devoted 2 years of elapsed time and countless hours making more than 7500 posts on multiple internet forums, in order to make a joke that only he finds in any way amusing or clever?
I wish I had that man's life.0
