Hi Loony according to this recent FOI request wp returnees should not be put on MWA as they have already recently completed an employment related measure

when the news was posted on the dwp website it said one of the possibilities was a 4 week work placement.

Thus contradicting their own regulations. Read the FOI, it makes it clear that Work Programme returners cannot be mandated to MWA. :j

Nope because dosey woman told me 7:30 start till 3PM but first day at work i was told i don't go back to base until 4pm. Then got to sort truck ready for next day and such. How do i point something out when they made a !!!! up in times meaning i didn't notice until actual start day?

i dont think they will take any notice of that. i think the thinking will be if they feel you need recent work experience they will send you on it. when you leave the wp the provider sends a report on what you have done while with them to the jobcentre and in that they can make recomendations of what you need. if they recomend work experience you may end up doing it.

then tell your placement your adviser requires you to use the library for jobsearch everyday and you need to be out of there by a certain time to do that. if they get difficult with that then ask if they will give you a letter stating the hours you are being expected to do.
do you have anyway of contacting your adviser? if so you could do that and tell them of the issue.

i dont think they will take any notice of that.

What they think doesn't enter into it. They have to abide by their own regulations, and their regulations state that WP returners cannot be mandated to MWA. The FOI makes it quite clear if you read the whole thing.

am I understanding it - the Work Programme counts as a Mandatory Work Assignment so we can't be put on another? Anyone know how long this applies for?

My guess is 6 months because that is the limit before they put forward new job seekers for mandatory work activity, which is just horrendous from my experience. I was put into a factory freezing cold, lifting things with no motivation at all and no surprise, it still hasn't landed me a job, especially in warehouses which are similar to what I was doing.

Anyway, anybody know if its mandatory to take a CV to my first work programme meeting? Really don't want them to store my CV on their database.

They do nothing with it. They keep it for internal job applications you want to apply for as it goes through an adviser in WP.

As for MWA i'm on i went on first day and they made it quite clear that the council i was working for was "Not" willing to employ anyone. Screw them and MWA. Gimme back WP that's a breeze it sucks and you get no help with work. I applied for loads of jobs they had 200+ spaces for even sat a week in college for certificates for a job and out of 400 they put forward, for a total of 300 said jobs only 3 jobs were actually given out lol. I had 7 advisers just like many other Hartlepool people as WP sucks even the staff know it.. Our work programme was made up of Working links idiots who had me month before WP. So went from 1 programme with idiots to another with same idiots who didn't have a clue. Also when they needed new cleaners/receptionist they don't use there books. They get outside staff lol which seems wrong
