it just sounds like it is designed to give people such a hardtime that they sign off.
I do not see how it can give anyone a hard time

JC has no room nor the staff

the minister responsible describes it as hard and uncompromising. they will be ordering you to undertake all sorts of nonesense and looking for ways to sanction you. of course this is based on what has been written. in the end it may turn out to not be so bad. alot will probably depend on what your adviser is like and what they think of you.

    hard?? LOL

My WP thinks its ok to look for jobs 4 times a week where I say you can not be looking if that's the case as I do SEVEN days a week so like I have said they scrubbed that off a list of what to do etc

If you are looking like me and doing everything possible they cant have anything say to you like the WP haven't

i forgot to mention while the 6 months workfare isnt happening there will still be the possibility of 4 week placements. i am sure you have complained about how its a waste of time travelling to the wp for a short appointment. well try doing it on a more regular basis like could be the case on this new thing. i agree with you that they arent likely to have the resources to make it as bad as this but the intention is there so it could turn out like that for some.

my reviews now take place when I am booked in for a 1 hr job search so I do not have to make the 2 hr round trip for a 3 mins apt anymore

I go once a week to the WP now and its pointless as I do not even talk to anyone

great that may well be the case now but this new thing isnt the wp and isnt run by your wp provider.

And what do you think the JC can actually do to get people a job?

i have seen stuff about this on facebook. weekly signing, forced to sign up to uj and allow them access and possibily even daily appointments with your adviser who will ensure you do all that they ask of you.
it will cost a fortune to run. i think one of the stories i saw said each jobcentre would have 5 advisers. wp providers have more than that and they can only manage to see people once a fortnight. i suspect they will target people they see as being wasters and largely leave everyone else alone.
My WP see people once a month and even then you may wait 2 hours to see them

The thing is, the "advisers" and assistants at the jobcentre don't think it is their job to find us a job, which I think might come as a surprise to the people who run the government!

It's the same at the work program, all they seem to want to do is INTERROGATE the "clients" about what they do 24/7.

Maybe we should call them INTERROGATORS, not "advisers", it's a word that fits them well.
