  • Why would someone lie about how many jobs they had applied for? seems a bit pointless really. I think its a bit sad really when people who are in the same boat start picking at one another. The facts will remain the same however regarding the jobs.
The other day there was a feature on local T.V about a homeless shelter. In the 1930s they were helping 80 people a night, now its 100 and a man who helped build the place is now living in it.!!

That's your perception not the reality.

I was mocking you for your patronizing use of "dear" not for your efforts to find employment -two different things completely !
You do not even know what I do all day to find a job (till 4am last night)

Though her claim of applying for at least 50 jobs every week seems a bit far fetched as she has been unemployed for around 2 years but then she is over qaulified for everything. I am lucky to find 5 suitable jobs to apply to a month.
It is not a claim in is a fact! Yeah all gang up on me why don't you!

Do you think all CV's are read by employers or they give you a fair chance? I have employers and agencies reply thay they WILL NOT interview the unemployed!

What jobs are you looking for?
    Where do you live?

I can post replies from companies here if you want to see them.

    Did I say EVERYTHING? NO!

The Work Programme is helping thousands of jobseekers in to work right NOW - fact

Taken from this thread on the pro-W2W site, Indus Delta.

    http://indusdelta.co.uk/discussion/what_happened_to_cait_reilly_posts/10315

One of the pro-W2W posters (who posted the above quote) seems to be living in a dream world also populated by the likes of Cameron, Smith and Greyman.

Actually, a funny thread, partly due to the constant battles throughout the whole site between those who see the WP as pointless and those who need the WP to survive as it provides them with an income!

Thus the latter group tries to have anti-WP posters banned and will have not have a bad word said about their precious WP.

Never said she lied did I.

Claiming to apply for at least 50 jobs a week which works out at least 2400 a year and having no success, applyling seems a bit pointless really. Surely applying for that qauntity of jobs is bound to get you something.

You have no idea do you?

    Not all CV's are read
The longer you are out of work the harder is it to get a job
I could be over qualified for some I apply for - the ones that are junior roles paying NMW where the work is basic and I was a senior member of the team at my last job. They assume you are going to leave when something else comes along and too right I would.
I have only hospitality accounts exp and a lot of industries want industry specific experience or use of their accounts package
Employers and agencies descriminate against the unemployed.

    Want me to go on?

It is not a claim, it's a fact. Saying I claim is saying I am lying!

Last reply I got from someone was this:

Thank you for your interest in P***** and more specifically your application for the role of Accounts Assistant.

Unfortunately you are overqualified for this role. If you are happy for me to, we may keep your CV onrecord to consider at a later date, should a more suitable vacancy becomeavailable.

We wish youthe best of luck in your future endeavours.

    Kind Regards

You seem to know it all How do you make someone at force interview you?

Like ladymiss A said you cannot force companies to interview you or even agencies for that matter, I found the excuse that we don't interview the unemployed extremely laughable as If I was in work I wouldn't give up a presumably permanent job for a temp job from an agency.

I had one agency ask for a written reference from my last employer before they'd even consider giving me an interview, I have asked on more than one occasion with my last employer and their answer remains the same we don't give to whom it may concerns references and ask the agency to ring or email them. Agencies don't want to do all the running about.

So you barley apply for 5 jobs a month but are still allowed to sign on? Why are you not trying harder to look for ANY work? Any job you can do you should be applying for it! I apply for shop work, admin work accounts work from NMW upwards.

Two years out of work and to me you have put in no effort

Have a jab at me when I have said nothing to you and expect the same back.

Agency jobs are NOT all temp jobs!!!!

Employers do not want people who have been out of work as they assume there is something wrong with you but you all must know this is not true as you are ALL unemployed. They pay big %'s to the agency and they dictate who they want to see and who they don't

One agency told me someone in a job with 2 years exp will get the interview over me with 20 as I am not working, How is that MY fault?

I was made redundant and if I had been sacked of walked out I would say that was fair, but it is not to tar us with the brush that if you have a good CV you must not want to work. Getting a job is not that easy cause if it was all the do gooders here in the same boat as me would not be having a jab all day long. Have a look in the mirror at yourself.

You always have a negative attitude to other people's post unless they have their heads up your @$$ and agree with everything you say. You started your negativity towards me when I was in the early stages of going through my providers compliant procedure.

I know they dont read all CVs or give everyone a fair chance and I have never claimed otherwise but I think if I managed to find around 2400 suitable vacancies a year I would be employed.
