as it seems there are some courses available from your provider afterall i suspect they are being decent and allowing you to stick to the type of work you want to do rather than saying how about training to do retail or training to do care work etc.
if doing advanced excel is important to you have you tried contacting local colleges etc yourself?
I do not need to be 'put in the best positon possible to get a job' and you know they can not do that! I had a job, was made redundant. I did nothing wrong and do not need training to do a job I have been doing for 20 years.
Advanced Excel is not important to me at all and I have never needed to be to that level in all my 20 years in accounts I was just using it as am example. Erm I am looking for work in retail and I do not need training for that either as I was an asst supervisor when I was 18 for House Of Fraser.
I do not need to contact anyone as the provider is meant to be helping me not the other way round. Maybe I sould do their job?
I need people not to keep saying 'you have too much experience', 'you have no industry specific experience' (like law firm accounts or media etc), or 'you have been out of work a while and we won't nterview you'. This is what I don't need and what I do need is recruiters who read ALL CV's and they don't, give me a fair chance, interviews etc.
The WP like we keep re hashing all the time here can NOT get you an interview and can NOT get you a job! Fact!
I have been on the WP 10 mths now and no better off than I was before.
And just to add if your CV isn't read it wouldn't matter if you had a degree no one would know!0 -

What training courses do you need for retail? Hmmm - how to blip a bar code? LOL When I worked in retail there were no bar codes!
I have an RSA Diploma in Retail Distribution and I am telling you I wont be doing any courses in retail as I do not want to work in retail. They will not MAKE me do anything believe me.0 -

You can get a job as a school leaver if you want to go into accounts. My old just took someone on as a 1st jobber. They expect them to stay a year.0 -
LOL Yeah cause all the women on the tills in ASDA have retail qualifications! Hahaha!

There is no such thing as an advantage as I can tell you no one I worked with in my team had accountancy qualifications. Only the Financial Director was fully qualified and so he should be on £100k a year.0 -
Training them to do what? Accounts and invoices are the same no matter what industry you are in! Who is looking for an apprenticeship? I am not.

Not all jobs give training.
Every company has a different way of doing things but even from the same industry using the same accounts package you wont know the job at all till you get there and do it.0
