Like I have said here they asked me yo look at http://www.vision2learn.net/channels/index.aspx to see if there was funding for IT courses and when I look its not for Advanced Excel so as I am at intermediate there is no point doing it as I can do all that's on the course. They said they have nothing else as they do not fund anything.

I did the Level 2 ITQ with them, I found it to be quite easy but I only did it for the certificate/qualification to back up the little bit of experience in it. I actually introduced v2l to my work programme adviser yesterday they had no idea that it existed and was fully funded.

Erm this is what the WP is for. They are meant to help you into work and I have asked them and they say there is nothing so I go along with that. It still wont help anyone get a job unles you have NEVER used a spreadsheet maybe.

Yeah, but we have all established that there not much cop, so basically we all have to sort ourselves out and that means we have to find out what will help us whether its courses, voluntary work, bank robbery or whatever!

But I do not want to do a course that is no help to me. I was giving it as an example.

They are in charge or things like that and thats why anyone with a real brain would not work for them as they would be asking their boss 'why are we doing the wp and we do not have courses for peeople to do'? I have asked them this and they just say 'they don't' and that's why I have asked for a list of things they can do to help me get a job by the next time I see them in June.

I defy anyone on the WP or not to tell us/me 5 things the WP can do to help someone get a job. They have admitted (the wp) they have no power) it just seems its a place to dump everyone who has been out of work 1 year as the JC doesn't want them anymore and there are too many of us.

If anyone really wanted to help the unemployed there would be something in place to help you as soon you are made redundant and not wait a year.

I agree the WP is no help to unemployed people, if they were really interested in helping us they would provide us with paid NMW wage placements for a year or so. Then everybody would be helped with a wage, reference and recent paid experience.
Its basically an illusion, government propoganda, thats all. Thats why only we can really help ourselves by going forward the best way we can.

No, they should make any company that advertises with the JC actually interview the unemployed and tell them they are over qualified.

They should also make it illegal to say we will not interview you since you are out or work.

I have 3 references so do not need another that wont even be relelvant nor do I need experience in a job I can already so and have 20 years experience in. What I need is a job!

What about doing voluntary work then and putting that down that you are employed in a current capacity?

It's so easy to get a non paying voluntary job in accounts. I do not see why I should have to work for free. I'd rather kill myself.

    Thats rather extreme lol:rotfl:.

I bet theres loads of charities that would bite your hand off for your help with their books.
If you chose a cause you believed in then it wouldnt be such a chore and maybe you wouldnt mind helping them out. If Its only a day a week, it would help you and them.

Nah not too extreme as I may as well be dead at this rate.

I am not a fan of any to be honest. I have applied to charities for real jobs advertised and never been shortlisted so I can't see anyone biting my hand off to get me in.

Just because you havent a job doesnt mean to say you would be better off dead! Thats awful, you are more than your job as we all are.
If you really feel that low then maybe you should talk things through with the G.P. or the Samaritans or something.
Have you any interests which can make you feel a bit better?
