when I have a phone appointment they give you a rough time of when they are going to phone and mine always phones me on my mobile. Last phone appointment they were running late and I had a appointment I had to go to, so I just carried on as normal and when they finally called I just explained that I was on my way to an appointment. The advisor said thats fine we don't expect you to be sat waiting by the phone thats why we phone people on their mobiles.0

they only ever phone me on the date that they say they are going to though so I've got no objection to them having my mobile. Means I'm not stuck in the house waiting for them to call.0 -
if they were phoning me with some real help I wouldn't mind that.

donnajunkie wrote: »the problem is they could phone at any time and it allows them to put you on the spot. they could want to put you forward for a job that isnt suitable or a course you dont fancy. it means you could be visiting relatives, in the pub with friends or on a day out and you couldnt relax because at any time they could phone you and expect you to go somewhere immediately. with a home phone you can put the answer machine on. that gives you time to hear what they have to say and think about what you want to do before speaking to them. of course it also means you cant be hassled while out doing the kind of things i mentioned.
I have their office number programmed into my phone as well as the mobile number they use for the phone appointments and if they phoned at a time that wasn't convenient for me then I would simply not answer the call. They never have though.0 -
well they have had my mobile number since day one and the only time they have phoned it other than for the phone appointments is to tell me about a course I had been trying to get on myself and that they had managed to arrange for me.

if you didnt answer the phone arent you worried you would get into trouble for ignoring their call? if you dont answer a home phone you can say you were out. thats not possible with a mobile.0 -

I would simply say I didn't hear the phone if for some reason I didn't want to answer it or that it was on silent because I was in the job centre/interview/appointment. I'm not a kid they can't tell me off for not answering calls. If its something important they could always email me if they can't reach me by phone, or leave me a message on my answering machine.0 -
My provider has only my mobile number and they have only ever called me once, I don't mind them ringing me as I always have the option to ignore the call.0

That's un true. There's many time when i've popped to the shops and not taken my mobile with me, or times it's been broken and being fixed, even times such as having a shower etc...
I've missed many calls and they understand. You're not expected to take your mobile EVERYWHERE with you.Save, save, save, save.0
