Got all my great-nephew's presents for birthday and Christmas next year (clothes, he's only little), and two great gifts for my eldest goddaughter's birthday next year.
Also bought 4 'klipit' style tupperware boxes for £1. Hurrah!
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -

Am pretty certain that it's because they don't want it to sell, but then the staff all get it at ridiculously cheap prices. I've seen on a couple of occasions staff, clearly on days off, pop their heads into the store room then have another member of staff bring it a basket full of reductions for them. I was very interested and terribly nosy the second time and followed one throu the checkut, well, let's just say it was rather more like a £5 steak for 50p!!!
Not saying all stores or even all the staff in my store do this but it certainly happens!!
No the staff does not get food at ridiculousy cheap prices, how do you know the staff were on their day off? Even if they were they are customers too, and they may have seen the reductions before they started work and had them put by! Items are reduced from the morning for the customers, to have something go down to 50p would be nearing the end of the working day. People get their knickers in such a twist if they dare to think that the staff at M&S are getting all the best buys!! The staff shop for the "staff" is now gone, customers now get offered the reduced items, as for sale items staff have been told they can pick up to 4 items half an hour before the shop opens (if they have time or even working on boxing Day, if they are not then tough!!) Lots left for the poor customers:cool: God forbid staff that they have any"perks"!0 -

I have a feeling it depends on the store. I have a close friend that works for an M and S in South London and she seems to live on all the bargains which she brings home from the reductions to staff (called 'waste'). This Xmas, lobster and organic beef both for under £4... and that was just what she got for me!! I guess there are some stores with a lot of perks.0 -
Thought I'd be the only person up at this hour! We had lobster for M&S as part of dinner on Christmas Eve. Hope you have a great day. I'm actually up late working.0

Don't know what online sale has but was sniffing around food hall yesterday before close of play and was very unimpressed. Some deals on turkeys but nothing else what so ever. I've always got something nice foodwise in previous years. My best effort this year was a turkey sandwich reduced to 50p lol. I really thought in current economic climate that m and s would have been wanting to knock stuff out to encourage sales and manage waste. Obviously not0

Also you may have got there too late, because staff sale is just after shop closes the stuff starts getting taken off the shelves about an hour or two before close, also m&s have started reducing things in the mornings now so most of it would have been gone by the afternoon.0 -

Biting is excellent. It's like kissing, only there's a winner.0 -
