Same for us. The reductions only bring the prices down to what everyone else is selling things for and then reducing them. Can't even justify M&S prices on quality like in the old days:(

I'm so glad you said that, I was wondering if it was just me. I was looking at trousers and they seem to cost far more even in the sale than I would consider paying for my budget. Clothes shops really seem to have put their prices up in the last year.

Not impressed by my locals final reductions on the fresh turkeys. Reduced to £18 from £24, they are not going to sell 15 of those in an hour.

In my m &s they seem to have a deliberate policy of barely reducing anything, eg, 50p off a £5 steak!! Am pretty certain that it's because they don't want it to sell, but then the staff all get it at ridiculously cheap prices. I've seen on a couple of occasions staff, clearly on days off, pop their heads into the store room then have another member of staff bring it a basket full of reductions for them. I was very interested and terribly nosy the second time and followed one throu the checkut, well, let's just say it was rather more like a £5 steak for 50p!!!

Not saying all stores or even all the staff in my store do this but it certainly happens!!
