tiserbelle- yet another one who does not like what i have to say about myself. You all think you know me better than I know myself. Funny that.
Noone at teh DWP mentioned I had to notify them of my disabilty in writing. I had no idea about that. I didn';t tell the woman to slow down because it didn;t occur to me at the time. TORY ATTITUDE. The 'get out of jail' is a classic.

Honestly, you all have terrible attitudes. I certainly wont be coming back here or recommending this site to anyone.
Do any of you understand the word compassion? what has blame got to do with it? I am not blaming the JSA people either. They do what the Government wants them to do.
LadyMissA- 'No I do not think it's unfair and no its not their fault as they never forgot to sign on!
They have to clamp down on false claims and the like and so it should be if people cant be bothered to sign on and/or show they are actively looking for work sign them off'.
I knew you would say that! That's a TORY attitutde. No compassion whatsoever. Why do you feel the need to say 'they have to clam down on false claims'. My claim is not false. What has this got to do with me and my prpblem?
Why do you mention 'if people can't be bothered to sign on..'
This has nothing to do with me.
Sounds like your interpretation of my problem is that I couldn't be bothered to sign on.
Thank you all you TORIES for your lack of compassion. I should have expected nothing else.

I sign on and have NEVER missed a day even when ill!!!!

I am ALWAYS there 10 mins before my time and ALWAYS check the date/time on my card before I leave and repeat back to the woman see you on the 23rd Dec or whatever day it is.

You are blaming the Tories for your claim being stopped not yourself for not knowing 100% when you were meant to sign.

You seem ok posting on here yet couldn't muster the words to the woman 'so is my next signing day in one months time'

I have a lot of compassion actually dear!

Do you think it's unfair though? That is the question. I am not blaming you. I am blaming the Tory party because they are in Government.

So are you blaming the Government for you missing your appointment ? Its not the Tories in power but the ConDems

I wasn't unsure though so how could i ring up? I believed I didn;t have to sign on until my next appointment with the advisor. I had no idea my claim had been stopped until i got my P45 in the post 3 weeks later and phoned them to find out why they had sent it to me.

Your given a number to call if you need to ask a question.

OP you need to take responsibility for missing the appointments and learn from the error.

jamiespir - every dyslexic is different. I have the ability to ask questions. What are you getting at?

So why didnt you ask the advisor when you were next to come in to sign on.

OP, you asked a simple question, and was given the answer in post 2, no this is not discrimination, nor is it against the rules for your benefits to have been sanctioned/claim closed as you have not met the requirements for JSA.

If you want to appeal, then they normally send this detail out, or ring them and tell them you want to appeal. No point spouting about politics, or yelling at people on an internet site - it has been the same no matter who has been in power over the 25 years or so I have been in the workforce any way (and no doubt a lot longer than that)

I don't care what you say about yourself. I don't even care what you call me either. I was going by your posts that you hadn't mentioned your dyslexia in the form so presumed there was something related to it on the form. But seriously what has having dyslexia got to do with not asking someone to slow down/repeat information if you feel they are giving you too much information, too quickly?

Dyslexic or not, you are an adult and you are responsible for your own life. If that means you need extra help to understand the rules then it is your responsibility to ask for that help and to ask questions to ensure you understand what is required of you. Surely dyslexia doesn't stop you doing that.
  • I am sorry to hear of your troubles that your having with JSA. I think you need a little bit of love and understanding. We all make mistakes, we learn from them, I am sure you'll never make this 'misunderstanding' with the job centre advisor again.
Thinking of you and your hard time; wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

For the record, I'm not a tory, or a liberal. I dont like any political party and my vote changes each time there is an election depending on what each manifesto says.

I also dont work (and never have) for the DWP, Council, Government etc and for the record I have had my own issues in the past with them.

However, just because someone states verbally to you they will see you in a month doesnt give you an excuse to not read the paperwork. You wouldnt just take a job and not read the contract; this is similar. If you dont read the paperwork you have only yourself to blame. Even if you hadnt been due back to sign on, you still have things to fill out in relation to the JSA, yes even when you are new.

This is as much your fault. I understand JSA is frustrating, I do. I was on it for 3 months this year and got paid twice! £200 odd quid in 3 months. And I was attending appointments and looking for work. But the first thing I did after my first ever appointment was go home and read all the paperwork.
