call out charges? Shouldn't they be paying that? What do I pay the mortgage for each month!
Why do you pay the mortgage each month!! Stop paying!!! That'll get them sitting up think how they can help you eh???
PS When it starts spouting white smoke does that mean you're a Cardinal & there is a new P**e??
PPS Wife's house's boiler went bang: Took over 2 weeks to get agreement to have someone replace it.. and it woz still me wot signed my cheque, my account... Explain that one eh???0 -
I believe you can go to see your local councillor, they have surgeries every week maybe in a church hall or similar so at least you would be warm. Failing that I'd cut out the middleman and go straight to your MP that should get them moving. I do hope you get this sorted in time for Christmas, I hate to think of you like Bob Cratchett with nothing but a candle.....0

Thanks mother - it's a good idea but I'm not Christian so wouldn't feel comfortable going to a church hall.
Theartful - see above. I certainly wouldn't be influencing selection of a P*p*! Oil supplier is a good idea though - If they don't fix it there won't be much point buying any more oil off them!0 -
Get youself down to the Council and tell them you are homeless. When they ask if it is intentional just say no, it wasn't your fault the boiler broke down!! They might even fix it for you as would be cheaper than paying for B&B or a hostel. It is the season of goodwill after all......0

Maybe you should stop whining like a little cry baby, put on more clothes, have a cold shower.

Oh, I do like a good parody thread. I was sniggering mildly till I got to the extra-strong mint and then I cracked up completely.

well i wouldn't advise this, but i don't see why you shouldn't deduct the cost of fixing the boiler from your next mortgage payment, seems perfectly reasonable to me.
p.s. did your bank protect your deposit when you took out your mortgage? if not, you should sue them for 3x the deposit paid?0
