Amazon Woes (with video)

  • What a suspicious bunch you are. It was a Nikon V1 compact camera, a 10mm lens, a 10-30mm lens, an iPod touch, some DVD's and CD's. If you don't think that'll fit into the bag you see in the video then you're mistaken.

The delivery was with CityLink, but it was a plain white van from a local hire company.

Anyway, you lot are all more interested in calling false than helping so I shall seek help elsewhere, thank you to those of you who were interested in helping though - I do appreciate it.

I must admit I bought loads from Amazon especially this xmas I most between us as a family had around 20+ packages since November as we also have 2 birthdays. All the goods were well packaged and not one broken, that said someone is always in to take goods. Only one time I had a box delivered incorrectly and that was some paint two tins in a box thrown over the garden gate its around 6 foot high, paint leaked (water based). That was a courier and goods were bought from Ebay

Don't worry about the white van - its just because they need more drivers - chances are this guy is christmas coverage - and unfortunately this is just one of the problems with seasonal staff - likely contracted for a few weeks or a month and paid per drop...unfortunately in your case, literally.

Like I said, if its critical for christmas order them again and get the refund later - remember, Amazon have 30 days to refund you once returned under the DSR's - they are usually quicker, but they have an epic amount of orders etc (I should know, I ordered every single present for everyone else and myself this year - Prime membership paid for 50 times over...)

yes but the boxes are not relative to the size of the item. I've had the same sized box used to deliver a tiny cookware item from amazon aswell as a large & very thick book which completely filled the box.

The size of the bag to me doesn't ring any alarmbells at all. The size of the items op ordered don't sound to be large & bulky items

indeed it doesn't nor does the number of items in one box - I ordered a camera, bags, cards, Blu Rays, two books and some bottled water.

One delivery, two boxes - 12 bottled of water in one box - the other stuff all in one.

Ignore the idiots. Some people are just jealous tw*ts who are clearly jealous of those who have more than £1 to spend on Christmas presents!

You've been given plenty of good advice too... :)
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I was surprised to get some of my Amazon stuff delivered in bags recently. Previously it's always been huge boxes, even for small items.

A stainless steel flask was sent out in a bag last week, needless to say it arrived with a dented lid.

In my experience, Amazon are usually very good customer service wise. Send the stuff back asap and if it were me, I'd enclose the pictures you took AND a copy of the video. They might just speed things up after seeing those.

Too many trolls on here now, anyone who thinks that there is camera lenses, cameras and dvd's and an ipod in that bag is being very gullible indeed.
It also looks to me like he is speaking to someone on a hands free kit, someone telling him to chuck the bag over the fence perhaps, if you look closely when he walks away he looks like he is turning off the hands free.
  • Well guys,

I have had a few developments, earlier on a friend of mine sent the link to the YouTube video to the BBC and ITV news desk's. Within 30 minutes they were on the phone requesting interviews.
I did accept, on the condition that Amazon were given another day to respond and to allow me to inform them of my intentions.

I emailed the MD of Amazon UK's email account advising them of the situation (again) and that the BBC and ITV were interested, but saying I wanted to give them a chance to rectify the situation.
15 minutes later the secretary of Amazon's MD called me saying that they had re-sent the items they had in stock, had issued refunds for those that they couldn't and apparently the MD of Amazon had personally called Nikon UK to ask for a camera and lenses to be sent to me, for delivery by 9am tomorrow morning.

In addition to that they had credited my Amazon account with £150 as a good will gesture.

I must say that I'm incredibly impressed they'd go to such lengths and if they are as good as their word I will be very pleased indeed.
    Well done Amazon.

Must be great to *really* know stuff about a stranger and their situation.

Must also be really great to know who is being 'very gullible'.

You don't *know* any more than the rest of us.

This site really p*sses me off sometimes. And that goes for all those who troll AND those who comment in such a way about others.
