  • Yeah I am like 99.9999999999999% sure I am going to book with him so much so that I have booked the time off work for the op already!

I am having a consultation with Arup Ray at Ross Hall tonight - He was the other one I had in mind - Like you said its hard to find out much about them but I joined Look Your Best Forum & there seemed to be some good feedback on him on there plus he is pretty well qualified for it & he says he specialises in difficult rhinoplasty - not sure how difficult mine will be but I want everything about it changed so we'll see.

Yeah that's the other guy I'd heard of, he sounds good. I also joined that forum, and I also want pretty much everything about my nose changed - when they asked me at Transform what I wanted to change about it I said, well, let's start at the top and work down....:D
Hey, are you sure you're not me?:rotfl:

Let us know how you get on tonight, not sure about paying another consultation fee but if you think he's good I might consider going to see him. I think mine might be pretty difficult, apart from all the usual stuff (width, bumps, large tip) I also have quite a deviated septum so he may be the man for the job xxx

    Hey guys,

Another Scot here who has had her nose done! Got mines done at the HCI in Clydebank (not sure it's still open) by Martyn Webster but was 12 years ago so think he's retired.

One thing I'd say is about a month (or about six weeks) before your surgery, start taking Arnica (little white pills) from the health shop. This greatly reduces any bruising, I had very little even right after surgery.

I had to get my nose broken and the splint left a small indentation on the side of my nose which I did go back and see about but nothing more could be done. I like to think that it makes my nose look that little bit imperfect IYKWIM, and doesn't look like I've had it done. Obviously it's a lot more feminine and me. Another here whose had her dad's nose which suited him but not my small face! Good luck.

Aww thanks swinstie! Glad you were happy with your result and I do know what you mean about not being perfect - I actually don't mind the bumps on my nose TOO much, they're a bit SJP! It's the width mainly..:) Thanks for the arnica tip, have written it on a post-it and stuck it up already, only way I'll remember it:D

I too can blame my dad - like you say, looks absolutely fine on a man! :/ xx
  • Hey,

Well my consultation with Arup Ray was fab!!!

Basically everything is wrong with my nose haha!

I have prominent alar cartridge(large tip)
    Convex columella(drooping tip)
Deviated septum(Wonky middle inside of my nose)
    Bridge Hump

Soooooooooooooooo yeah just cut off my whole nose & stick on a Mrs Potatoe head one LOL

I have emailed Taimur Shaoibs peeps to see if they can fit my in any earlier if they get a cancellation cos I really just want to get this all sorted & booked so that I know exactly whats getting done, who's doin it & how much is it gonna cost me!!!!!

I am totally bugging those poor girls at La Belle Forme I swear I email them almost everyday!

Swinstie - Nice to hear from someone else who has been through the surgery & who is happy about their results - I think Martyn Webster might still be operating?!?!?!? Heard about him on Look Your Best Forum.

    Car Insurance Carver!
hi all you guys thinking about having a nose job.
when my daughter decided to have her nose done
we went to 3 major consultants.
we didnt pay for ANY of the consultants.
my daughter recovered enough to go back to work within 10days.
very little brusing or swelling ( mind you she was young )
she had the splint taken off within a week.
its been over a year now since shes had it done. and its fine.
(finishing paying for it soon in june, wey hey)
    good luck with it.
    credit card bill. £0.00
    overdraft £0.00
    Help from the state £0.00
  • Cat501 not had my formal consultation with Taimur Shoaib yet so will make my mind up once I see what he suggests.

Thanks paulwellerfan - all surgeons now charge a fee for consultation but I think if you choose to get the surgery with them then they deduct the consultation fee from the total cost of your surgery.

Defo all of the surgeons I have looking into do anyway.

I know some of the cosmetic surgery companies do give FOC consultations but some of them dont have very good feedback to be honest so I thought it best to just do it this way.

Will all be worth it in the end

Dolly Rocker, totally agree with you about the CS companies.
  • Cat501 I had my consultation tonight I managed to get a cancellation they emailed me at about 5pm & I was there at 7.30pm.

Defo gonna go with Taimur Shoaib - I think I will get the best result with him from the explanation of what he is going to do.

So thats it my surgery is booked for 8th August 2012!!!
