Moning all,
I'm up and ready early (for me at least) as it's a hospital day for me. I shall be having a bone strenthening IV line in which takes only half an hour to run through but the nurse can never get the canula in and Iusually end up cross or upset. I have to drink plenty of liquid before hand and try to keep my wrist warm to make the vein earier to find so I'm taking it easy and guzzling water. I was debating taking a friend along for a natter while I'm having it done but not really in the mood so I'll take my Kindle instead.
I'm going to pop into Morrisons on the way home from hospital as they have a great big World Foods aisle there and I really need some uncooked popadums. Otherwise it will mean a trip to Derby to the big Indian supermarket, which is fab and cheap but I always end up spending a fortune as they have such a big range that you can't get anywhere else. Then I'm off to Boots to hopefully get the Soap and Glory set - I save my points all year for something nice at Christmas and through points boosts etc I got £60 worth this year. I got the No7 box last week as it's full of things I use and this one will go under the tree as a nice gift as I expect MrS won't have got me as many gifts as I have him and will probably feel a bit bad. Well, that's my excuse.
Breakfast today was fruit and yoghurt as the fruit basket was heaving and the yoghurts were a day or two over their UB dates. That's my five a day done already as I had an orange, a grapefruit, a pomegranite, a kiwi, and apple and some juice. It's surprising how difficult it can be to eat five a day even as a veggie / fish person.
Lunch will be bread and cheese if I have a walk to the bakers (or shake a tail feather and get the BM on) and dinner tonight will be something curried but not sure what until I have a look through the HFW Veg book for inspiration.
Hopefully I'll manage to get a bit of baking done this afternoon as we have nothing yummy in at all. I was hoping to bake on Saturday but we ate the eggs as poached eggs on toast and we didn't go collecting the eggs until late on yesterday when I couldn't be bothered with being in the kitchen.
Back to working tomorrow which I don't really want to do but needs must and it's only for three days. Is it bad to want a countdown calendar to R day (retirement?)
Apologies if there are extra speling mistakes today, I put false nails on last night as my real ones are particuarly prone to breaking at the moment and look awful, and I'm unused to typing with talons
Hugs to all that need or want them.0 -
Morning all!
WM number 2 is on with bedding, today I will go to the butchers to stock up the freezer with OH's favourite black and white pudding (yuck!), hoover and dust living room, get the last of the juice etc for christmas, then hopefully get the presents wrapped, or the kids ones at least. Looks like it may have thawed a bit, no scraping the car this morning anyways!
Bramble, glad the mouth is a bit less swollen this morning.
JG enjoy a bit of a rest, you will be hard at work soon enough bringing Roo into the world!
Hugs aplenty, help yourselves, and have a good day all!RIP Iain

Morning all
I'm on the train to Birmingham. 7 hour return journey by train all for a 2hr meeting, but I get to meet up with my friend from camp America which will be lovely. It will be a long day though! Didn't sleep too well cos I kept worrying I wouldn't wake up in time for train, and had period pain.
It's wet and miserable so far on my journey.
I've got my laptop so am doing uni work for a bit, have to change trains halfway so will switch to reading my kindle then as my brain will have switched off by then!
No OS for me today
Have a good day all

Hello all,
Been MIA for a while due to several things, wont bore you all with the details but some absence is due to decorating the house. Trees are up beams are decorated, swags on the inglenooks and all pressies wrapped and stacked under trees. Logs were delivered and are stacked in the ingkenook we dont light. Menu plan completed. We have our 2 DDs their OHs and DGC spending xmas eve with us, a fun day to look forward too.
Health wise I've been a bit poorly, fast forward to latest news re the hosp apps, I have to have an op on Jan 9th as the last intrusive tests showed something on my colon that shoudn't be there, at least this time I'll be out for the count. I'm in denial about it so I'll carry on regardless and make sure that it does not cloud our xmas.
I didn't get to meet our friends y/day, we go to our local every Sun lunch for a catch up, DD2 and baby Olivia turned up to collect DGD2 who had stayed with us for the w/end, was a bit taken aback to see a suitcase in her car. 20mns later SiL2b phoned, they spent over an hour talking whilst I had a crying Olivia and made DGD2 her lunch. DH went to the pub . Anyhoo things were sorted out and they all went home 4 hrs later. First time this has happened in all the 11 yrs they have been together. I was shattered.
OS wise I have the BM and WM on the go, shopping list done for the last minute xmas food needed, I'll wait until Wed to buy the veg etc.
Ironing done and put away, must vacume through as DGD seems to have done a Hansel and Gretel and left a trail of crumbs throughout the house plus loads of glitter from her art and craft set we played with.
Lamb shanks are marinating, veg prept so that's dinner sorted.
Just skimmed the posts so I'll have to re read to catch up.
Many thanks for the mentions of me missing, didn't think it would be noticed.:A
Loads of warm ((((hugs)))) to poorlies. x0 -
Beth - hugs to you, I hope things re: hospital go as well as they possibly can. x x
I got sent home from workWe are very quiet at the moment, so it's not so bad, and I really didn't want to meet new customers looking like I do. Will take it easy today and home the swelling is not so noticable tomorrow and i can do a full day.
Pup still needs walked, might see if my sister will take him for me, they adore each other so should be fine. I'll buy her a pint too.
I'm off for a telly session and to do the housework so i can relax the rest of the day and snoozeAnnual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Good Morning all well its my baby girl Tessa's birthday today she is 42 but will always be my baby bless her.I am going to try to give her a really cheery day today as she is a bit down as finacially things are a bit tough in the tribe's house at the moment but we shall all pull together and do our best to give her a good day .She was suffering badly last night with neuralgia as well on the side of her face which doesn't help.At least she has a lieu day off today so no work for her.I think we may go and see santa at Notcutts in Maidstone for Mikey this morning as they usually have real reindeer as well there.
The Blankey squares are done and I have six days to knit around the border so with luck it will be finished in time.Blooming nippy last night with lots of Jack Frost about.
Hope everyone has a great day as its the start of the childrens holidays so lots of excited kids around this week.I finished all my wrapping yesterday thank goodness and all's ready for next week-end.I'm off for some breakfast then round to see my darling DD and give her some presents and a big cuddle for all she does for me during the year
Cheers chums JackieO xxx0 -
Morning All
Beth Sorry to hear your news - I am sending lots of positive vibes your way in the hope that all goes well for you x ((((((Hugs)))))
JulieG Take care of you x.
JackieG I hope that you are ok x
Nippy this morning and a bit grey.
I had an awful night last night, one of those that means that you wake up nearly every hour, so I am shattered this morning.
I want to strip all the beds today, so that will be another job ticked off my list.
Yesterday went really well the In-laws really enjoyed their day, even though it is not the proper 60th anniversary until Christmas Eve.
Everyone turned up, including three of their bridesmaids, which was fantastic. We didn't get home until 6pm so we know everyone enjoyed it, because they didn't want to leave the restaurant. DH spoke to his Mum at 8pm last night and she was still buzzing.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Morning,
Just sitting here waiting for kettle to boil for a much needed coffee, I am so tired today. Yesterday we spent the afternoon at DP's sisters. It was lovely to see everyone, especially the 3year old twins & the 4month old neice who is turning into a proper little characterUnfortunately these days even just getting ready to go out leaves me tired so add that to 4 hr of visiting, half hr of travelling & then coming home to a house full of teenage boys & today I am not fit for much
Any spare spoons gratefully received
Beth.. lovely to see you posting, wish you & Sunnyday good luck with hospital appts x
Bramble..ouch, poor you, hope the swelling goes down soon x have you tried arnica cream or tablets? I have always found them a great help with reducing swelling.
JulieG, hope Roo doesn't keep you waiting too long & that you are able to rest comfortably x
hugs for Dazi, Jackieg, Lou & LW and anyone else in need x
Ooh the kettle is whistling caffeine for me
Have a good day all x x

Morning all,
Tru, I love 'pottering' too:T very rarely get chance to do it, but I love it.
Sharp frost here too, but I have some towels on the line, which are blowing merrily.
Today I am going to clean the oven _pale_ we were lucky enough to inherit a big aga type oven when we bought the house, with has two ovens, last year I cleaned both before Xmas, used them both on xmas day and have only used the smaller one since, so only one to do :T
I also need to post 4 more cards, and have a good clean through. Will nip and see dad at lunchtime.
Hope you all have good days.
Thinking of Dazi and JackieG xx0
