Hi ladies,
Lovely day so far - chilling with family, pootling about with odd jobs indoors, Crib Service which was noisy and fun. Even a trip to Sainsbugs was good - parking spaces and not very busy.
DS somewhat badly over excited, dragged me back from church announcing loudly that we had to go if not we would not be back home before Santa comes. I tried to explain that we had over 7 hours before he came, and that it was only a 5 minute journey. So he is now watching Polar Express and hopefully calming enough to eat some tea.
I'm going to carry on pottering with some ironing in between the cooking of various bits. Need some Christmassy music to keep me going until the midnight service. I didn't meat the deadline but I'm not stressed or fussed. A first in this house!
Have a lovely evening everyone,
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -
Wandered out into the seething throngs today. Actually, it wasn't that bad. And all the stuff about most of the shoppers being men on the news was absolute nonsense - there were men around, obviously, but not to the exclusion of anyone else.
Treated myself/us to a furry throw and matching cushions (grey wolf type - sorry LW! - btw, where are you? Never got to wish you a happy yule.) and a nice bathmat. The cushions have cats snoring on them (including one very small snorer who has toppled off twice and been replaced, the throw has a cat snoring on it and so does the bathmat. They seem to think these are their Christmas presents.
My bedroom is relatively clean (just don't look under the bed )
Everything is wrapped (might do some ribbons later if I am bored).
There are battery candles/tealights placed around (I always swore I wouldn't have them - then I moved into a timber framed house. No way am I using real ones!)
I have already filled the bin and there are no collections before next Saturday.
The chicken is stuffed and sitting in its pot. The cats have fought to the death for a piece of the backbone - Dizziee the Ninja Kitten was winning until the old boy stomped straight up to him and removed it from his mouth. Did I mention that as I put the chicken in its packaging on the floor as I got things out the fridge, Dizziee climbed straight in the bag and started trying to dig his way into it?
Spuds are steamed and in their tray waiting to be roasted tomorrow. Carrots are steamed and in their bowl to be reheated. All other veg is prepared, profiteroles are in the fridge and there is copious quantities of alcohol taking up every available space in the refrigerator. I was forced to make room by having a readymixed snowball - interesting, rather like an alcoholic sherbet lemon - and the freezer is now bursting at the seams with food, icecubes and vodka.
Tomorrow, or later tonight if the pub is boring, I shall do the table and scoot around looking for something I haven't done yet.
But I am off for a shower and warpaint application so I can wander down the road, into the couples and groups hell that is the pub on Christmas Eve.
Happy Christmas, ladies!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Everything is done in the house except changing the bed- will do this as I go to bed tonight. Everything else is perfect. Haven't posted but always lurk on this thread, really helpful. Merry xmas all!

Children are in the bath together (DS1's idea) - can't remember the last time they did this.
DH getting ready to go out. Tea more or less finished and DH's baking going down well. Reindeer food sprinkled and Christmas Eve goodies unpacked (new pjs, lush bath bombs, cheap DVDs and some chocs).
I'm reducing my list to what's possible/essential, but for once I feel ok about it. Better than not aiming high enough, I think.
Must do's:
drop DH off at the club and take a few bits and pieces to people
finish wrapping
continue with laundry, folding and putting away as I go
have a bath
DR
S&S kitchen before bed
Happy Christmas Eve, everyone.
