Ooo no not fleas, making me itch now! Bless your little lad, mine would do the same no doubt, be even worse if I changed it when he was out and he came back to it!

  • Feeling for you tonight pig pen. My son has not got aspergers but I honestly think it is a boy thing where they hate change. He cant stand anything being changed and although he is a gentle soul he has a major strop if I change things at short notice. Ii have learned not to do things to him on the spur of the moment as it just upsets him. I even give him a ten minute warning of impending bedtime and then he will go off to bed like a lamb whereas if I say right bed he has a flaky lol. Stay cool

Seems to be a few parents with children on the spectrum in here, that must be 4 so far, plus parents with children with other special needs. Maybe it comes with the territory, disorganised because of the extra stuff like countless appointments, meetings, school visits etc etc, and needing to be more organised because it helps them. My sons are much more settled now that I am more organised. Saying that he still doesn't do that thing called sleep, he's still up now!

(My oldest is 8 and has Autism (plus all the rest of the labels they added like ADHD, Dyspraxia etc) and the youngest is 6 and still being assessed ? ASD or GDD, plus dyslexia and dyspraxia fun isn't it! )

Strop, ah yes, you just reminded me I need to fix DS1s bedroom drawers tomorrow, that he's managed to smash!

  • Thanks for all the encouragement gals, I've taken on what you said about getting the kids to help. They both want lifts everywhere this weekend, so I've done a list of jobs, and said they need to help, so that I'll have time left to run them around. So far it's worked well.

Do you have jobs allocated for each day of the week? I guess then they could got to the top of that day's list next week if they get missed!

All tips welcome. I suffer from CHAOS, as it was described on the Flylady site - 'cant have anyone over syndrome'!

Oh my, have just found this thread...

I can't join it just yet, as I live in a part building site, but I might take inspiration from the different rooms by different days side, and substitute the jobs in the rooms suggested each weekday for things like tiling, painting, and so on!

We've been working on the house for nearly a year now, and we've just lost motivation, especially since Christmas, given the big push we had just before it. Now the heating works properly, we can cook in the kitchen, and there's no urgency

Not entirely on topic, sorry, but as we get the rooms done, I'll start doing the "normal" jobs :o

    hello all

i got in from my hen night about 20 minutes ago, and when i'd put the washer on (clothes stinking of smoke!) i realised what a difference flying had made to my life!!!thought i'd pop on here and catch up while washer finishes so i can hang the stuff over bannisters to dry over night. my day was fun, though quite hard a work at times. going to pack bag now ready to go to OHs straight after church, than way i can lay in more in the morning when i really need it!!! :D

Rach - did you have fun? I hate it when I used to come home smelling of smoke!! Not allowed to smoke anywhere indoors over here now. All pubs, hotels etc are smoke free . . . it's lovely :)

I'm going out to a garden fete with MIL this morning. Didn't happen, she wasn't feeling well.

Also this which didn't get done on Friday:

    2. Hoover
    3. Dust
    4. Declutter (make sure all clothes are in wardrobes or drawers and tidy bedside cabinets)[/STRIKE]
    5. Clean inside of window
    6. Clean windowsill - Don't have one, it's a sliding door . . .
    7. [STRIKE]Check underwear drawers for anything that really needs getting rid of![/STRIKE]
    8. Check nets, blinds for washing, cleaning if needed. Only new . . .
    9. Sort computer desk if yours is in the bedroom. - It's not.

    Good morning everyone,

Going to have a busy morning - need to clean the bedrooms upstairs, but first DS and DD are wanting waffles for breakfast (we always eat late on a Sunday) so about to go and do that.
Thats about it tho, apart from my weekend dailies - spending the afternoon out with DS, so house should stay nice and tidy.
Off to make the waffles, have a great day xxxxx
