I got the flapjack recipe from the Asda site (didn't put on the white chocolate because I don't like it and it was missing from the method anyway!)

    250g butter
    100g demerara sugar
    200g golden syrup
    250g rolled oats
    75g plain flour
    100g Asda dried cranberries

    Method
1 Preheat the oven to 170C/ Gas 3. Line a 23cm square tin with greaseproof paper.

2 Melt the butter, sugar and golden syrup in a large pan over a low heat, until the butter and sugar have completely melted.

3 Add the rolled oats, flour and cranberries to the pan, and stir together well. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared tin. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown. Leave to cool for a few minutes, then mark into 12 squares – but don’t cut all the way through. Allow to cool in the tin completely.

I think the bag of Asda dried cranberries was only 80g but that's all I used.

The chewy date bars I got from a recipe leaflet I bought at the American museum last summer.

    Half cup butter
    1 cup gran sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 cup chopped dates
    half cup flour

Beat together the first four ingredients. Add alternately the dates and flour (I chucked them in together :D). Spread in greased and floured pan 11in x 7 in. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 deg. Cool in pan and cut into bars.

I used baking paper and they stuck like mad! So maybe you should grease and flour a pan instead - but my baking trays are a bit iffy so I always line them.

I liked the flapjacks better than the date bars, but I expect that depends on how much you like dates.

Well not a huge amount done today as had work.

DH had the lie in this morning (well till just after 7am) so my turn tomorrow:j

So quick flick round this morning and that was about it. Does not look like DH worked out how to use the hoover today but at least I came home and they were all still friends so that was a major achievement, usually its like stepping into a battle zone.

Bathed the kids and washed their hair - took me an hour to detangle DD1 hair  . Then made HM pizza for tea. My turn to read girls bedtime story so 2 books later and both fast asleep, phew:D .

DH has said he will sort kitchen in morning so as I will be having a lie in am leaving it all piled up on the side - think he has been having it too easy lately :p

Hoping weather improves so can get outside next week and clear out sheds properly.

Happy flying ladies and enjoy your weekend.

Have you tried coating it with conditioner to detangle ? My Dad used to do that with mine when I was little, I used to hate Mam doing it!

Right kids in bed, dogs evicted, floors done, sofas wiped again! Washing up done, apart from SC pot which is soaking again. Another load on the airers but no more room on them so not washing any more until they are almost dry, hate it sitting around damp!

Thanks for that Lil-me. Yes half a bottle of conditioner used. Its only so bad because she has been poorly the last few days and slept really restlessly so lots of head rolling. She has lovely white blonde hair but boy does it tangle.

I've been to Asda.. and SIL's.. the dresses looked gorgeous on DD2 and dreadful on DD1.. but a bit of elastic and some double sided tape she'll be fine. she's got me an effing TIARA!!.. ME!! in a tiara!!!!!

When I got back.. the husband has sort of 'tidied' his mess.. he did put 5 children to bed on his own but it is FILTHY up there.. absolutely filthy.. and set to get worse.

He is, by all accounts putting the framework for the new wall up tomorrow after church and I dread to think how much mess he is fgoing to leave for the children to play in all week!!

He doesn't start job and then not finish them because I am Queen of Nagging , though I am a half-jobber.. There is just so much that needs doing and he thinks he is doing one job every weekend until it is all done.. I am however going to take advantage of the mess and strip the manky paper off the landing and DS1's room and get those decorated once he has finished rebuilding the house! There were bricks in that wall with no mortar because they couldn't fit the right number in with it.. the wall actually wobbles when pushed.

Best go put my shopping away. I bought some fruits to go in the garden as well.. raspberry canes, black-currants, strawberries and rhubarb.. yummy!!!

There was me thinking it was the noose I am slipping over his head!!! I can't see me wearing a halo either.. it has twinkles on it!! I look like a fish!!!

The toilet floor is covered in his sooty footprints.. there is a hole in the ceiling so I can see the loft insulation.. my aspie boy is nigh on hysterical because he 'can see the bricks' and because ' I might fall out of bed' (he has a bed guard) THEN he found out we are taking the wall out.. cue full blown hysteria.. the other one was fretting because he couldn't remember how to lock his phone.. he got a mobile for his birthday with £10 credit on.. absolutley loves it.. and is a whizz at snake!!! .. definitely worth the £20 we paid for it!! lol

the bathroom floor has a 1/4inch layer of grit and dust over everything!!!! My carpet from the landing has been rolled up and placed somewhere.. and no of course he didn't vacuum it before he rolled it up after knocking down half a wall!!

DS3 is now wailing because it is too dark.. it was too light 5 minutes ago I can't win!! And I've still not got the shopping put away.. or a cuppa!!

I swear how I manage not to murder him I'll never know!!!
