Although I doubt that you have clinical depression, you could find that 6 months or so on mild antidepressants would lift your mood, so it might be worth while discussing this with your GP.0

I understand where you are coming from, been there until recently - a succession of 'stuff' happening can really get on top of you, especially if you are a natural-born worrier (and I don't even have any kids to be thankful for), but it will pass, and life will seem worth living again.0

Also remember many people get depressed in the dark days of December and January. See if a light box will help.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
too many people go running to the gp when things go wrong over a period of time and they get a bout of blues. What on earth happened to self-reliance and to just getting on with it. I second the time of year being a causation, get a biobulb or two and take some vitamin D. You`ll be bouncing in no time. There are people far far worse off and wallowing in self pity does nothing to help you0

How do you cope? Eyes forward, don't look down, don't look back and forward march often works..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Another version of this, as stated by comedian Sara Millican :
"Don't go looking for the light at the end of the tunnel, stomp up there and turn the f**ker on yourself !"
Cheers me up every time !:D0 -
Here's another good one ( Garrison Keillor's 'Lake Wobegone Days')
The helping hand you need is at the end of your arm.
Joking apart, good luck to you, ceegee. It seems like hassle never ends. Hope posting has helped a bit.

Choosing to go to the GP for help is being self reliant and I see no difference between taking vitamin D and taking a mild anti depressant.0
