In the past I have subscribed to "my comps" which I found very good and you receive monthly and I have also tried "competitors companion" which was also good and you also get access to on line sites through them which are useful but unfortunately I couldn't afford to continue with them. I found both of these genuine and full of great comps the only thing I would say is you need to be committed and set aside some time every day to do as many comps as you can to get anywhere; also have you looked at "loquax" which is a good site.
Having said all that MSE has plenty of comps and is updated constantly, hope this may be helpful.0 -
Hi,
Was wondering if the more experienced compers can answer a question for me.
If I was to enter comps other than those on MSE what would be the best way to keep a record, so as not too duplicate entries already made via MSE(If that makes sense)
Any helpful pointers would be greatfully received.
Many Thanks

Hi,personally I cannot see a reason to use other sites to enter.MSE has more than enough & I doubt thet many sites have got comps that are not on here, other than the dodgy comps :-)0

Can someone please tell me how to pull up competitions in date order ending soonest? I followed the instructions I found which said sort by title and ascending but after 01/02 it seems to go to 01/03. Is there a way to get 02/02 up or do you just have to scroll through?
Sorry if I'm being dim, would be glad of any help.
I think that what you are doing is correct, since strictly speaking, they are just in Alpha order, but those starting 02/02 will be start just a few pages later than those starting 01/03, 01/04 etc.0 -

Hi Kelboy

AND SHE'LL OPEN HER HEART AND TELL YOU HER
FEARS, HOPES AND DREAMS
ASK A MAN WHAT HE FEELS AND HE'LL TELL YOU

The thread about twitter comps is closed, and there's not a dedicated thread for it just a mixed up bit of this one....so.
When is MSE going to get with the plot and dedicate a section to social media comps? They make up a very large chunk of all comps and are growing fast, they end quickly though...some twitter ones in hours, some FB ones last a day and this means people miss them. We wouldn't need an ending today or anything if there was a social media section, it would be easy to see the new stuff there before moving on to other normal stuff.
IF people don't use FB IMO they are missing a lot, but they would benefit from not seeing these comps...those who use FB a lot would obviouslt benefit, and it costs NOTHING. Why the problem getting up to date with this? Lack of will to move with the times ?
People will go elsewhere if MSE lags behind, and they already are doing that. Not good for anyone.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

*cough* I know I said I'm out of the discussion, but here I am again.
In general terms, I completely agree. I enter tons and tons of Twitter comps. I'm now trying to add some to the board when I have time, but to be honest, what gets posted here by beck004, Marg2k8, slbhill and others is just the tip of the iceberg. You can dip into twitter at any time of the day and in 5 minutes, find a dozen or so new comps with minimal effort.
As you've (Timmers) said, however, many have *very* short opening times, there are various dailies which have different opening times each day. Also, lots of the Twitter comps don't have explicitly stated closing times/dates- many are same day but others seem to just randomly close a few days or weeks in the future which makes it very difficult to post with the end date format here - e.g. on the 31st, Heatworld posted 4 good comps. I'd guessed a closing date of 01/2, but they still seem to open so who knows when they'll close! Plus you get all the "winner will be picked at xxx followers".
My personal opinion is that the Twitter (and FB) comps could be managed/organised in a better way on these boards.Hmmmm, need new siggie :cool:0 -

I have only just started using Twitter and follow the links posted here to Twitter comps. What other ways are there to find Twitter competitions?0
