Thats interesting re auto fillers. Next question to this is is there any way that we can check to see if there is an invisible box. I read on one of the post that someone had actually done this.
Roboform displays this information but will only do so for forms that have been saved
after saving the form click on "Edit" to see all of the form values

I think the vast majority use form fillers such as Roboform. When you enter competitions, do you tend to enter those just for big prizes? If you enter lots for smaller prizes too, such as a book, you will stand more chance of winning these and the small prizes keep you going. Also try entering ones where effort is required, such as writing a story, or a caption to a funny picture, or uploading a photo. You are more likely to win if effort is needed. Also look out for local competitions, where you have to collect the prize from your home town. I am sure you will get something soon if you persevere.0

Hi Guys, You know how the T&C in most holiday comps say the prize is non-transferable? Well, Does this usually mean only once the holiday is booked? I'm trying to win a holiday as a honeymoon for friends, but if I won one, would I be allowed to give it to them?

Thanks for that Amilucky. Just have to do a bit more checking on them now then. I'd just managed to get up to date after being away so have a bit more time now.0

The web development company that my husband works for is often asked to devise forms which have an invisible field, so when a person fills out the form the field would be blank but an automated form filler would fill that field in, so the person receiving the form knows that it was automated.
I wonder whether form fillers such a roboform / 1password would fill these blank fields in.
I had never thought about it before, but its just because my husband said that my competition entries may be invalid because I use 1password.
This appears to be a misnomer which is being spread around comping sitesThere have been claims that a webpage can have a "hidden" field in which you cannot see, but is filled by using roboform. This could not be any further from the truth. In no way can a hidden field in an HTML form be filled by the person viewing it. The purpose of a hidden field is to submit information that is NOT entered by the visitor.
http://www.sweepstakes-discussions.info/en/TPDaglUHere's some info about the "invisible" fields conspiracy theory. There actually is such thing as a "hidden field" in html programming. However, this is a classic case of people knowing just enough to be dangerous. Because of the way RoboForm works, it doesn't fill in hidden fields, even if there are hidden fields, even if the hidden fields have a title that would cause Robo to fill it in if it were a normal field. And that's not because the sneaky programmers are trying to trick Robo and Robo is too smart to get caught. It's because hidden fields are used as a kind of REM line by html programmers who want to transmit info from their web page to the database

Not surprising to most regular compers I guess, but thought this was interesting -

(summary - 16 year old entered STA Travel comp & won the star prize but T&C say only open to age 18+ so she lost the prize. Wasn't even allowed to transfer it to her parents). I wonder if they will select a 2nd winner, pretty sure I remember entering it!Hi Guys, You know how the T&C in most holiday comps say the prize is non-transferable? Hi Blu
If you read the story about the 16year old who won a holiday with STA, unfortunately she was too young, but she asked the question could she transfer it to another member of her family. STA wouldn't budge. They said NO!
I also won a holiday 12-18 months ago, but I couldn't take it up at the time, I requested I transfer it to a family member, but the promoter wouldn't allow me to.
Both these scenarios where before the holiday was booked.
I have never heard of anyone successfully winning a holiday and being able to transfer it

What a shame, but at least I know. Thank you for that. I guess I'll have to try to win lots of money so that I can afford to buy them a honeymoon. You save me lots of wasted time  May Fairy Compo smile on you and reward you with a yummy win in the very near future :cool:I am brave, I am bruised
