Vista upgrade

When I bought my new pc from PCworld last november it came with free Vista upgrade. How do I get it? Do I contact PCworld?

make sure your entitled to one though.... i got charged £10.00 for mine... even thought the pc world site says its free

Every site (I've come across) that says it's 'free' charges a small fee, but many don't specify how much.

PCWorld also mentions it: "*additional handling, process and P&P is charged by the manufacturer". G

Has anyone got their upgrade from moduslink yet? I applied for the Vista business upgrade back in december but it still has not been despatched. It says the status is COA confirmed!

I was just about to ask the same question... I emailed my stuff to them in December and apart from 1 confirmation email I haven't heard anything. the phone number they list doesn't work either.

If you used Moduslink for your upgrade, you can ring them on 00800 666 44 666. I have just tried this number but they were not much help as they could not tell me when the upgrade dvd would be shipped. Just said it could be a long wait!

Are you sure you are typing it in exactly? 00800 666 44 666. It's the right number.

i logged in today to check status and it said coa validation failed?!
I rang them and they are looking into why
anybody got any ideas

I was told it was free - been into PC world today - no chance it will cost £16 for me BUT when I spoke to the tech guys - pc world techie website the guy told me that not all software is Vista compatable.

Confirmed this today at PC world - so you need to check your printer, router,etc with manufacterers site and see if your software is Vista compatable - please someone is all this true.

I think its wrong PC world didnt tell me when I got computer in December that my software may not be able to run with Vista - glad I havnt brought it yet, Im not too bothered about buying it anyway but the way pc monager spoke today all pcs in future and all software will only run with vista (except apple of course )

Any one technical confirm all this.

Also has anyone managed to get FREE Vista from PC world and if so how did you go about it. ?
