Hi Pennywise
Have you thought about camping with the kids? We've taken ours a few times and ok its not always warm and sunny but they remember playing cricket as a big group, playing silly games in the tent on an evening and its just a fairly cheap way to get away for a night or 2 over the summer, We don't generally go too far, about 30-40 minutes from home and then if the weather is inclement its not too far to pack up and return home! Coming from someone who likes her hair dryer and hair straighteners its not too bad (so long as its not too cold or wet) Believe me I am a home comforts person but for a night or two I'll do it as the kids get so much out of it, constant fresh air and making friends with other children.
They do grow up far too quickly and you've got to make the most of them before they disappear off doing their own thing. My DS has grown up so much since starting secondary school its frightening and in another 6 years, he'll be off to uni or whatever he wants to do.
6 years ago he was 6 playing with lego and playmobil!!
What about the sun holidays at Haven? I think we paid £120 for a 3 night break there 4 years ago, ok caravans aren't really my thing as I spent every year as a child holidaying in them but as a cheap break it could be an option and the kids loved it as they'd never done it before. They still talk about that break as they could use the swimming pool.
Take care

Hi choo and thankyou for your kind words, camping is somethng we could thng about, but to be honest I just can't think that far ahead at the minute, don't know whats wrong with me, I only seem able to think about what is happenng right now and getting through each day, maybe i'm a bit depressed, hopefully having next week off for half term will do me some good.
Small spend n Tesco today £3.76, ALSO spent £6.50 on a book for DD for her birthday but i used clubcard vouchers to pay for that.

Woohoo its half term and i'm so ready for it, feel shattered.
Came home from work with 6 eggs from one of the children, brought them in for me as she has chickens, bless! Also means i don't need to buy any for the cake i'm making for DD birthday, more MSE:D.
Have redeemed £25 from pur£profile:j, takes around 4 weeks to hit bank account though.
Present arrived today for DD friends, really impressed as it was ordered Wed evening so super quick delivery.
Oh its also been a NSD, realy trying to focus on all the positives:).0 -

Hi PWD, DH was trying to sort the kids breakfast and the kids started arguing over breakfast cereal.
I've been busy reading back over my first diary and how I seemed much more focussed back then, I really need to get back on track and knuckle down.
Yesterday I went into town, children banked christmas cheques:o, I posted an ebay item and then i nipped to sainsburys and did a small shop £26.74.
I have meal planned for the week and should (fingers crossed) be ok until tuesday for groceries when I receive Child Ben and can do an online shop.
Made £4 on ebay at the weekend, not much but all helps, today postie brought me a large pink tub of stain remover to test and its something use often on DS football kit:D.
Have tried to keep ontop of surveys the last few days, but not near payout at the minute, also done some nectar adpoints.
Hope everyone is well.0 -
Hello Penny, hope you are managing to keep warm, it's bluddy Baltic here tonight. I am ok though as I've inherited my teenage daughter's old onesie and am snuggled up under the blanket that I am crocheting! My Granny would have been proud'Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses' - Confucious0

Morning NL, yes I agree its blinking cold, but it is nice having the sun out.
So today is going to be a quiet one at home, did have friends coming around for lunch but she has rung me to let me know her DD is ill, so has cancelled, sad that I won't see them, but pleased she cancelled as I don't want bugs in the house and us all getting poorly.
Have made a pan of tomato and lentil soup this morning, going to also do some baking shortly.
Washing machine is on, need to get caught up on all the washing today, have no idea where it has all come from.
Anyone else finding ebay slow, I have 10 items listed and none have watchers or bids:(, all ending this weekend, never mind i will just have to relist them.
Hope all is well with everyone.0 -
Afternoon, having a quick catch up of diaries whilst the rugby is on.
Well looks like we have a tenent for our house, but they don't want to move in until the end of March, good we have a tenent, but means another tight month for us.
On the money front, not much to update really, have withdrawn £3 from mysurvey, no bids on ebay but several watchers. I have another couple of items to list, but will do this tomorrow.
Will need to do a small shop tomorrow, need bits for lunch boxes.
Today has also been a spend as DD was horseriding, so £25 spent there.
