I agree with a sub-board, and if the OP wants their thread moved into being a diary then they should change the title - otherwise once the question has been answered then the topic can be locked? No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

No, probably worse. Never mind. That which does not kill me, only delays the inevitable."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Just a question - how do you change the title of your thread?
I have a diary thread and I hate the title I gave it. It was unintentionally pompous and I cringe every time I see it.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
I actually think there are far too many stickies. I've only read two or three of them. I think all the essential advice for new posters and rules of the board should be in just one sticky. They crowd out the first page far more than the diary threads do.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Locking would be quite a lot of administration, and normally the "answer" to a question comes in drips and drabs with updates popping up, sometimes months, after the initial question."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I'm with Reformed on this one.
I enjoy keeping my 'dairy' as it lets me vent/get my thoughts in order/confess and all that however if it is at the detriment of others who need to get their voices heard then I'm all for a sub board.
Maybe we should all take a vow to bump up a thread a day that *isn't* a diary!

I would agree with that. I think SS's sticky could be expanded with Clapton's (I think!) "Boiler Plate" letters and Martin's "What's it all about." and the "Slogan" stickies could go into the announcement . Then the other ones dropped."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Try going into your first post, editing it, then select "Advanced"."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
