This is in danger of turning into one of those pointless-but-funny threads that irritate people cos they take away space from the 'serious' thread ;)

But if it wasn't for fun threads I wouldn't stick around dfw as much as I do... as has been happening lately.

Dont you think, that without threads turning funny, and where SS has posted, flirty, this would be a much duller place.

I agree with you Kath, I wouldn't spend as much time here, if the talk was purely debt debt debt.

We are all in debt, but we dont need to talk about it 24/7, do we?

Flirting with SS makes being in debt a lot more enjoyable ;)

Flirting? I thought this was foreplay!

I've found my diary a helpful way to keep me focused. When I don't log on and write there is a direct correlation to me spending money unneccesary. However at risk of people not getting the support they need I would welcome a subboard.

Totally agree, chatty fun threads are great!

Sometimes diaries seem to be only read by a select group of people (even if those people don't intend it to be a private thing) and maybe thats why they feel like they 'clog up' the board. They're only clogging it up if we don't want to read them  :rotfl:

I don't want to sound horrible about the diaries though, I think they're a great way of keeping track and keeping up to date with certain people I know best, if you see what I mean.

A sub-board might be good though, cos then it would be easier to choose if you'd prefer to catch-up with some diaries, or post in the other advice threads etc.

Only trouble is how do you define a diary? I mean, if a newbie posts for help... and we give advice... and they keep posting and updating the situation... and there develops a group of people who seek out (subscribe to) the thread and know the situation in depth... at what point does it become a diary rather than an 'advice' thread? What's the difference?!

Self-selection. You ask for your diary thread to be moved - or someone suggests it.

Thats why I think we should move the diaries. So there is more room for SS to get dirty! :D

And there's the killer argument against a sub-board.

I'd vote for a sub board for diaries. I started mine to keep me focused - it is nice when others read it but I don't really expect them too! I read a handful as that is all I can keep up with - I think most people are the same. Sometimes other posts do get lost - and so do diaries. Separating them would help both problems I think!
