selloldphone.co.uk Help please its a con

I eveyone I sent my Nokia 5800 away to selloldphone.co.uk on the 13-11-2011 and was told to wait 10 days for payment. I have recived nothing and have messaged them 5 or 6 times now with no reply and they have no contact number. Can anyone help me or exsplain what powers I have?

Now, assuming that you can prove that you sent the phone to them, you can send them a Letter Before Action (recorded post) demanding either the phone back or the cash that they promised to pay (if you can prove the amount).
Then you can submit a claim to the Small Claims Court (online) and you will win.

I don't know how you can enforce the court decision if these con artists ignore it or don't have any assets to pay.

There's no need to use recorded delivery for a LBA; why waste postage?

It worth noting too that recorded delivery can be a hazard - a clued-up dodgy company will just refuse to sign for anything, ever, which makes it disappear back in to the Royal Mail network, possibly for weeks until you get it back again as undelivered.

If it's time-critical, as legal stuff quite often is, then by the time you get it back you might have missed the boat. At best you've wasted lots of time for no benefit.
