Sometimes you can't win, Sarah. Don't let it get to you. The vast majority of regulars know how much advice and inspiration you offer to others. You're a star. :A0

In fact, my friend's having some money probs at the mo, so I said to her "visit MSE and search for posts by this woman called SarahSaver" :Telona wrote:Sarah
I can guess what has upset you and my blood boiled when I read that particular post as she had obviously not bothered to read the thread properly - or even the last few posts.
Me too :mad:Bulletproof0 -
well at the risk of being shot down, maybe we should give new members the benefit of the doubt, it can take people some time to realise the community spirit of this site, and post accordingly.
Some new members will view it as a chat forum where opinions can be given wether they go against the majorities view or not,
if I've looked at the right post then it didn't seem too offensive just a little lacking in feeling, and new posters won't have that feeling they know people personally as older members do,
and there will always be people who feel that if they can work and raise a family everyone should be able to, and that if they pay in full for everything then so should everybody else, surely they are as entitled to an opinion as anyone else wether we agree with it or not. As long as posts don't become abusive I think a discussion can benefit from differing views.I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. I agree. But they did totally miss the fact that I have just become self employed.
I have paid for everything in full anyway as I am not in receipt if state benefits. People who are offended shouldnt be 'moneysavers' as such because by the same token then it isn't 'fair' that I can manage to feed my kids on £20 a week, whereas some spend 60 quid or more (roll eyes)
I find offensive the assumption by some that stay at home mums dont 'work' and that i believe is the opinion of most.
I also believe that anyone else who had been through what I had in life would probably have crumpled under the pressure.
It is a shame some members have left this site, almost appearing to have been 'hounded' from it.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Hello Sarahsaver
While we may not all be in a similar situation to you, we are all here to save money.
I'm sure that there will be a silent majority who read your posts who do not comment but find your posts useful and thought provoking. Please don't let a minority who post negative comments put you off.
Keeping money saving ideas and tips to yourself won't help us, will it? Please continue to post and help other money savers.

sorry Sarah
do you mean people have left MSE because they felt hounded? who?
we all know how much you've suffered but what I was trying to say is that you realistically can't expect everyone to view things your way.
My weekly shopping budget is £100, I'm not sure if the (rolls eyes) means that you would find that obscene and feel I shouldn't be a moneysaver.I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards.
