there offers are as good as any other supermarket, however I have have noticed that there reduction prices are not as good as they used to be. ie be careful as ive noticed say if mince is reduced it comes to the same price as the up to date mince that are on the buy 2 for a fiver etc.

I haven't bought meat there inthe last few weeks. I'll be sad if they've changed that.
  • I haven't been able to get chicken or eggs on huge reductions this past week. I hope that they haven't stopped the big reductions but I do know a lot of staff have had their hours reduced as profits are down.

anyone who shops in my coop store has too much money
  • I will be watching this thread with interest. Our local Co-op is my nearest supermarket and I use it for top ups between big shops. Sometimes its not worth driving the extra 15 mile round trip to go to Morrisons or Asda with petrol prices as they are.

supermarkets don't always have the same prices in all the stores, I wonder if they have different prices in different branches.
What saddens me is that where I live it's people who don't have a car (can't afford it, pensioners etc) who are stuck with shopping at the most expensive store because there is no decent supermarket within a few miles, or a short bus journey away.
  • I've been in today, like others said the reductions are fab! 8 Walls sausages for 49p, 3 lamb chops for £1.02, whole chicken £1.59, Warburtons bread (full size) 44p all freezes well! That was just todays shop!

I wish lol, I wouldn't do it for a 'main' shop but if I'm passing I'll pop in & see what reductions they have to fill freezer up.

I like my local co op and happy to shop there. I am a member so share in the profits. The quality of the produce is good and my store supports local growers and produce which is far better than most larger supermarkets offer. I am also happy to pay a bit extra knowing that a fair trading policy operates with it's suppliers.
