Different weekends do different things and weather dependant . A good and enjoyable few hours is a ferry ride on the Mersey stop off at Spaceport in Seacombe Ferry (often have other exhibitions Dr Who, Simpsons,Wallace & Gromit, Peppa Pig etc.) http://www.spaceport.org.uk/ 10yr olds eh hope its the reds tour because you can scar them for life with a E*erton one.A few decent LFC shops in town too. Albert Dock has a big wheel .P.S theres not much by Anfeild (or Goodis*n) except the football grounds. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

You must go on one of the duck tours they leave from near the beatles exhibition - I think? It takes you on a bit of a tour of the city and then goes into the water at the albert dock for a bit of a sail round| :j0

We've just had a couple of days with the kids (9,6 and 3) in Liverpool. There's so much to do there - we'll definitely be back.
The kids really enjoyed the wheel, the Maritime museum and some freebie activities they did at the Tate. The Walker gallery was geared up for children with great spotter sheets to do.
We found the World Museum unbearably busy, though this was half term. It looked great but was really a victim of it's own success - far too many people in there.
We ate at Pizza Express (with Tesco vouchers obviously!)0 -
The two cathedrals are well worth a visit. Connected at either end of Hope St they offer good architecture and in the case of the Anglican Cathedral fantastic views if you climb to the top of the tower. Around the area are fine Georgian Terraces, more in fact than Bath, and in just this small part of the City.
If you are into classical music then looking out for events at the Philharmonic might be useful. In any event the Philharmonic (pub) has stunning interiors. All along Hope St are good restaurants, 6O Hope St, London Carriage works, Host and others all have a good reputation. I like the Quarter for breakfast when around that area. Also nearby is Puschka in Rodney St. LIPA which used to be Liverpool Institute is just off Hope St and the whole area has many other places to eat and drink, look out for Peter Kavanaghs, the Cracke, Belvedere and Blackburne Arms for good beer. An excellent part of the city to spend a few hours0 -
