from what you've said, yup, pretty much. I really couldn't answer about the slow cooker though, as i've never used one. sorry. I use a pressure cooker.

one point: you don't *need* to break the bones, (afaik anyway) you might need to pull the ribcage in half though, in order to get it in the pan. but if you don't need to, then just chuck everything in as it is.

btw serena, no worries about cross posting, quite often happens on here i think!

that sounds good penny-pincher though i would probably add a chicken cube when you make the soup, its up to you to blend or not, the chicken could be used for a sandwich instead if you want, the pudding your dd made looks lovely would do well after some soup if theres any left :D

Not only cross posting, but also not on the thread I thought I was! I popped over from Flylady... So that is why I mentioned 'the list' for anyone puzzling... must be too relaxed, I'm not usually that dopey!

you might not need a stock cube, taste the stock, just depends how much flavour the chicken had, i usually find it needs one but it will be fine to put it in when you make the soup tomorrow or you can freeze the stock for later

PP - when I make stock I leave it in the slow cooker all day.

    Evening Everyone

Had a really lazy weekend. Yesterday afternoon came down with tummy bug so have been resting and have got nothing done. OH has done all the washing and I now have 2 ironing mountains. Will get those done tomorrow hopefully after making some business phone calls.

Fortunately did get out for a walk in the lovely sunshine yesterday. We took the dog to a local park and sat and had a coffee sitting in the sun - it was soo hot.

Tonight hope to have an early night so am raring to go tom (fingers crossed).

    Off now, take care.

Took the boys out with their RC toys, then after they managed to break the helicopter and the car, went to the Metro Centre. Spent a fortune in the £ shops stocking up :) don't get out often you know :rotfl: unfortunately no silicone bakeware left I wanted, knew I should have got them when I first seen them :( Got the boys some new PE trainers for a couple of quid and some wellies for me :D Oh and Ikea, spent loads in there too, my plastic tub addiction is back :( but did manage to get some nice boxes for the kids shoes, and some inspiration, we're going to do DS1 an under sea room, they have a similar thing on display and he was just in heaven!
One day I might be more organised...........

  • I think Im gonna throw up! I bidded on a bedspread for DD earlier to £8.22...I have just won it at £38.99 as I put in £822 by mistake:eek:    ...I have just emailed seller to explain. There is no way I would bid that much for a bedspread secondhand! Someone bidded to £37.99 so hopefully they will buy as a second chance buyer:confused: ...i will have to take a negative if it comes to it:o
