Oh well! I got away with it for a while!
Oooh, I did that too - a friend of mine convinced his children that the tune played by the ice cream van was a sign that they'd run out of ice cream. I did it with my two, and it worked for years :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Woo hoo!!! Glad to see that the date went on to be more
I've obviously missed a few postings
My news today ..... I now have a fence
DH put one up yesterday and today and it's looking good
Also, he found someone to make us a custom-sized shed
for cheaper and far better quality than we could buy from a DIY-store
Now I just need to find a "spare" £500   Which on top of the repairs on the car because some eejit reversed in to it and didn't admit to it ... will make a challenging February
But hey, we can do this, I'm sure .....

Just got back from my weekend away, had no chance to read Sat/Suns yet, hope everyone is feeling a little better. Not very OS weekend, a home cooked meal on Saturday night for us, with red wine (is that OS?)
Today a trip to Skirlington Market (near Hornsea) they had the JML Tumbler balls for £4.99.
Then on to Bridlington for a good walk along the prom, followed by real Fish and Chips served with the usual tea, gorgeous, but looks like my diet is off the rails. Never mind start again tomorrow. Walked back to the car, made sure we parked a reasonable distance from the centre to ensure we had a good walk.
Went into Boyes at Bridlington, they had Microfibre mitts reduced to 29p, and for anyone into dressmaking their patterns were £5.45. (Sorry this is a north of england store chain)

it has craft and sewing things in so why I have a look round when I find one.
Have to catch up on a family tree thread now, so catch you all tomorrow.

Where did you go for your F&C? We always go on Christmas Eve, and after a long game of beach cricket with another family, fall into *Busy Bees*, now renamed *Coast*. Very upmarket - used to get mushy peas; now get salad with radicchio   Did you park at South Beach?
Rzl, as to your question about cable, B&Q will almost certainly stock it. Have you a local hardware shop? You often get a better bargain there and will be keeping small shops going. Sorry, can't now remember your other question, and it's pages back...........

Good Evening All
All bathed & ready for bed now, Kids enjoyed their wk end away with visiting their grandparents. They can go again, as there was a lot of visitors to pass thru the grandparents door, all giving the kids a £ here & a £ there, they came home with nearly £20 between them!
Pen-Pin I cant believe the cheek of this seller saying he will leave neg feedback if second chance does not go. Thats so unfair. Retalliation from him - and you can put that in his feedback you leave for him. If he gets abusive - report him.
Kyle thats awfull ref the diabetes thread. People can be so rude & ignorant. There is no need for nasty comments from anyone - anywhere. Opinions yes - but to be blatently rude - is bang out of order
Dyson has been dismantled, cleaned and left out to dry before putting it back together. It was "mingin" to say the least.
Listed a few things on ebay. Ironed uniforms for tomorrow.
Cousin just popped in for a quick chat, he's waiting for his licence to come thru to set up his own debt collecting agency (he's been working for 7 other companies in the last 4yrs, so he knows the ropes) Ive volunteerd to help out! As I use to do this when I lived in Birmingham.
He tell me his brother's house is getting re-posessed end of Feb, since his ex walked out on him a few yrs ago, he was left with debts, suffered with depression, and hit the booze. Then he had a back injury which resulted him being jobless for about 2yrs. So as you can imagine, things have built up, despite myself and my other cousin talking/advising him, he's taken no notice. He's the sort who shrugs his shoulders in hope it goes away. Evidently it hasn't.
Right off for another cuppa and some weetabix
Be back soon

Rzl - James Martin was asked that question on Saturday Kitchen yesterday - he said he grew his own so didnt know where to get it, and to keep cutting it back, as that encouraged growth. Maybe try a garden centre to see if they are selling any?0

Hmmmm, that's an idea.
One of the few really annoying things about this flat is that there is nowhere to grow stuff. Because my kitchen's just at one end of my living room, and the only window is the full height doors at the end of the lounge, there's nowhere to put potted herbs. The only possibility is growing them on my bedroom windowsill!
EDIT: Ho hum. Having trawled through Google, all I found was post after post (some by chefs!) about how nobody sells chervil!
Anybody suggest something which might work as a substitute? The main recipe I wanted it for was the Gillian McKeith aduki bean stew. Would parsley work, or would it be too strong?
