Am I devious?

I'm a big believer that we should all (as a country) talk about money more. If we all did that, then perhaps more people would be better educated about money and how to get the best from it. Things like this site really help a lot.
That said, talking about money doesn't mean that you have to tell them what you have.0 -
I to am a saver by nature.I live within my income. I dont have a credit card but I will buy a round in the pub if its my turn. i may even buy a few pints for my friends who i know dont earn as much as me but dont try leech off me either. Know your friends and forget the rest. My friends know im a saver (tight as they might call it) but i have never been in a situation where they come asking for money. I too also know few of my work mates who have expensive woman and dont have a penny between them even though they are on big bucks yet keep moaning. I cant tell you how good it feels to be able to go out for dinner /odd casino night or go on holiday / treat yourself and not have to worry about whats in the bank.The moral of the story is have good friends enjoy life and dont worry about the rest (self centred?)
job = tick
flat = tick
car=tick
enough saving = tick
good firends=tick
happy with life=tick
girlfriend= working on it
. got to be happy with yourself before you can be happy with girlfriend / wife
children= not convinced... yet!

It's your own business, OP. Up to you what you do with it and whom you tell about it. If you want people to know but don't want to dosh it out, just tell them you're not a cash dispenser - I know it's hard for some people but you've got to be a little harder in character at times (not YOU, just people in general, else you'll get taken advantage of).0

You're NOT being devious you are being SMART.
The worst thing you can do is let people know you have money, especially family members who will always expect you to just lend it because you have it. Sometimes they may expect you to forget that you have lent it!!!
I'm known for always having a stash of cash so people would always borrow and certain family members would never pay me back. Then when I find myself in a situation where I need to borrow money no one offers and I don't ask!!! As of 31.12.11 I will no longer be open to requests to borrow money and NO one will know how much I have saved.Save £12K in 2015 #48: £0/£12,000
