I like sainsburys non bio - just because it smells really nice. TBH I don't notice a difference with performance from any brand - they all clean perfectly adequately but just smell different.0

I'm using Ariel excel gel, but only buy it when it is on offer, and get good results at low temps, are the own brand gels just as good?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

TBH I have started buying Planet Earth Powder (Wilko) and then mixing it with a bag of soda crystals...costs about £3 ish a month to do our laundry0

I live in a soft water area so no probs with the tablets dissolving. I must admit though, for all my whites washing I have gone back to Ariel tablets (powder) as nothing gets whites as white in my opinion
I get the Ariel tablets from Home Bargains £4.99 for 28 washes (56) tablets. I recently bought a large box of Ariel liquitabs 36 pack from Tesco for £6. I love the smell of the liquitabs but prefer powder tablets as they contain bleach to keep my whites pristine !!!!
HTH
I was once told by a washing machine repair man that really we only need to use one tablet per wash rather than 2. I can't remember the exact reason why but maybe it was to do with 'furring' the machine up. Makes them go further though.0 -
I like to use Asda's liquid wash, 30 washes for £3, it does a good job and smells nice too.***Dont save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving***0

Never heard of this one, am intrigued. Is it an eco one?, i use soda crystals in hubbies whites as he is in the meat industry, so you can imagine.
How big is a box pls? I know Asda is against animal testing and it does say on their body products not sure about the laundry stuff, that sways me a bit.
The Aldi liquid is 2.50 for 28 washes which is not bad and says you can do 30 degree washes fine. Wonder how many washes i do a month?
Will keep track to see how cheap i can do this per month. I do use a branded (on offer) softener though on clothes and vinegar on bedding and towels.0 -
I second costco's kirkland own brand. You can use it for washing floors and all sorts of things. Its about £14.40 ish and does 440 washes (3p a wash)! If you are not a member already it might be more mse to go as a guest with a member as membership is just under £30 for the year. If you have a friend, relative, colleague or neighbour who is a member they can add you to their membership for £12 a year. I did this for a friend and she lives at a different address. The Cabbage

I do have a friend who is a costco member maybe she can get it for me, 3p a wash sounds really good.0 -

Another vote for this - I've been using it for 5 or 6 years now and as cabbage says it does floors, cleans slabs and is a godsend for cleaning burnt roasting tins, pots and so on. A little goes a long way and the plastic bucket is reusable for all sorts of things. The Kirkland fabric softener is brilliant too.0 -
I have downshifted to the max over the years and now we are using 'EASY' washing liquid ( made by Jeyes)
£1 it is, in £land, 99p stores, Iceland, farmfoods and this is pretty good!
It doesnt neccesarily have a 'all day' smell but thats fine as OH doesnt like his clothes to smell girly. In terms of quality, well it washes as good as all other liquids, I dont think there is much in it really apart from the smells.
Not only that but I often use only half a lidfulworks fine and have been doing this ever since I joined MSE! If I want extra scent then I put in a bit of fabric conditioner ( eg morning fresh, £1land) and it gives it that extra smell.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
