Would be FT buyer - Sounds like a case of cutting off your nose to spite your face. The majority of Ts would probably be delighted have the insulation in their home increased.
Why on earth would a LL need to compensate you with a month rent free?0 -

Side issue but why is *the LL* cleaning mould from inside the property?0 -

You might find you are moving out quicker than planned.
We wanted our loft insulated. Could have all been covered by a grant. Butt LL wouldn't sign the papers. Think you are crazy personally.0 -

He's served you notice by text message?!
Well that's hardly going to go down well in court ...
Are you still in your fixed term period in the contract?0 -
What was the tone of your text message to your landlord?
Please, do not ever communicate in this way with a landlord again! It is not an appropriate mode for business matters.
Still, no landlord can give you notice by text. Wait until he serves you with a Section 21 Notice.0 -

We said he could do it if he let us live rent free for one month, guess what? Yep! sure enough he didn't want to know about it then!
Were you dropped on your head a lot when growing up? Maybe he was getting a grant, good for him, but you would have been the one to benefit. Surely that crossed your mind? You spitefully prevented him from improving your home on the basis he may have benefited from the deal. Congratulations, your the stupidest person I've heard from today!0 -
Loft insulation = warmer house + cheaper bills. For you.
Bad decision.0 -
Can we perhaps ignore the insulation refusenik for now and let the thread revert to roses-babe's issues? It kind of gets confusing otherwise and her situation seems more important.
RB- did you pay a tenancy deposit and if yes, has your LL scheme registered it ( property in Eng/Wales only, deposit "received" by LL after 6 Apr 2007)) and given you the prescribed info from the scheme? This is important becuase it affects the validity of any S21 notice of intent to repossess.0 -

he may not have got a grant, he may have got a great deal from a company to do all his properties. its just like landlords refitting kitchens etc. all to the benefit of the tenants. doing this makes happier tenants as their bills are reduced.0
